With anime like Darker than Black, Air TV, and Baccano!, another title gets attacked by expiring licenses… Fullmetal Alchemists. However, there are some good news and bad news for it.
It was announced yesterday that the anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood license will expire at the end of March; precisely in March 31. Another title is the movie, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie – Conqueror of Shamballa – and it will also expire in March 31.
Confirmed by ANN, FUNimation states that they still hold the license to the Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) anime series (or commonly called Fullmetal Alchemist classic).
Also, on July 31st Hulu will release the 2003 version of the anime.
*infinitely shudders and closes the blinds* We’ve talked about this one. My lands, will anything be left?
I feel you. It’s a darn shame :(. Fortunately, FUNimation still has the rights for the classic Fullmetal Alchemist.
Seems weird that they would allow the licence of such an awesome show lapse. I am glad that I already own it on DVD.
I wonder as well. You would think this show wouldn’t have any problems. I guess this could happen on any anime.
