Today is the initial day of Comic Con 2016. Here are some news I found online and some additional gaming news!
During Comic Con, Viz Media announced at the panel that they will be partnering up with streaming website TubiTV. This will allow users to stream free anime in English Subs and Japanese Dub in United States and Canada. Here is a list of anime that fans will be able to view:
- Death Note
- Naruto (classic)
- Sailor Moon Crystals (first 2 seasons)
- Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon Super S, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars)
TubiTV will also continue to add more anime regularly. To those who don’t know, they also have an app for download. You can get it for Apple TV, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Samsung TV, iOS, and Android.
Viz Media also announced of new books. They announced they will release a new Princess Mononoke artbook. However, they did not specify too much information on it. Back in 2014, Viz previously published The Art of Princess Mononoke and Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke: The First Story book. Another announcement is that they will also release the American-animated web series RWBY. RWBY was created by Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth. Once again, Viz did not specify on the details. It’s unknown if the RWBY books will be a new series or Shiro Miwa’s (manga creator of Dogs) adaptation.
Announced at Comic Con, FUNimation will release TOHO’s Godzilla: Resurgence (Shin Godzilla). FUNimation has plans to release the film in late 2016. The film is expected to premiere on July 29, and will have IMAX, MX4D, and 4DX screenings.
This is actually the 29th film of Godzilla and it will be directed by Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, the same guy who directed the live-action Attack on Titan films.
Details on the cast and movie will be at the link on FUNimation.
Also, Pokémon Go is now available to download in Japan! After making agreements with McDonalds, they agree to sponsor the app and have all the fast food places be key locations for players.
