First, Happy Resurrection Day! Second, here is some news from Sakura-Con!
I found out this news from a blogger named Takuto’s Tweet in Twitter first and then I had to check at Anime News Network to confirm it and it’s true. Feel free to check out his blog here.
At Sakura-Con, FUNimation announced that they got license to release Kyoto Animation’s anime Hyuoka. This anime is 22 episodes long and the anime director is the same person who did Full Metal Panic Fumoffu and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. Here is the plot for the anime:
The story follows a boy named Hōtarō who is not assertive about getting involved, but was ordered by his older sister to join the classic literature club. In the club, he gets close to the truth about an incident, involving a female member’s uncle, which happened 33 years ago. The “energy-saving” boy is joined by an inquisitive girl in this adolescent mystery.
FUNimation states that the first part of the anime will be released on July 4th in DVD with an English Dub.
They also announced another anime to join in the July release. The anime Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches will be released in DVD with English Dub. Here is the plot:
The story begins when high school boy Yamada bumps into the beautiful female honor student Shiraishi on the stairs, and their lips touch as they fall. When they regain their wits, they realize that they have swapped bodies. As time progresses, the two realize that this is not the only mysterious happening in the school.
Anime from Aniplex of America is also joining the news!
Well-known for making anime fans cry harder than Clannad and Angel Beats, the anime anohana – The Flower We Saw That Day will be receiving an English Dub. Led by voice actor Patrick Seitz (Franky in One Piece, Dio in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Isshin from Bleach), the anime already found a cast to play as the characters. It’s unknown when will the anime will be released for DVD or stream.
Aniplex will also be releasing complete Blu-Ray Sets for the anime Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and Magi: The Kingdom of Magic for $119.98. Both sets are in English Dub and Sub with textless opening and ending songs.
Even though this is not another anime news but related, Aniplex of America announced that they will be releasing the app game Fate/Grand Order for U.S. and Canada. This game is well-known for fans especially since they played the JP version. Aniplex announced some updates to the game in regards to players who have access to the JP version such not being able to transfer accounts and keeping up with campaign events. The app is planned to be released in the summer but you can read the details here.
