News: New DBZ game and American Anime

New Game

Announced today at a conference, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that they are working on a new Dragon Ball video game that will be set to be released worldwide. This new game is known as a Dragon Ball Fighters “2.5D” fighting game and it will be for PS4, Xbox One and Steam. The game will include 10 different languages as well English. Also mentioned at the conference, the game is being worked by Arc System Works (The team Developer who makes BlazBlue and Guilty Gear).

Game producer Tomoko Hiroki states that the game will include 3v3 matches and unlike most 3D fighting games, the game will be 2.5D; in which means, the game will have anime 2d style animation along with 3D angle and movements which will allow players to recreate moments from the anime.

The game is set to be released in 2018.

New Anime

I found this out in Anime News Network.

Based on the trailer, the animation and team who worked on anime like One-Punch Man and Tokyo Ghoul will be part of creating this anime. Here is the synopsis of the anime:

Enter the world of INDIGO IGNITED, a post-apocalyptic dark fantasy anime. A shattered world sustained by bloodshed and built upon the remnants of an ancient order that was abolished in their conquest to rid the world of Fear. Driven out of their homeland, KIERAN and his comrades descend into a maddened environment driven by chaos in hopes of being the last ember of light within a darkened world.

    • Yeah I agree. I think that if more anime is produced in America or other parts in the world besides Japan, it is going to add another definition to what is anime.

  1. I’m hyped for the DBZ game. 3 on 3 Blazblue style is one of my favorite Gameplays so throwing in the DBZ characters is going to be awesome. Almost definitely a day 1 buy for me unless they do something crazy like announce no local VS mode like Battle of Z….worst decision for a multiplayer game ever!

    • I am excited too. I haven’t played Dragon Ball Z in a while and I hope this game does include local play. When I first about that in Battle of Z, I immediately said nope!

      • Yeah, I get that online Vs is all the rage nowadays and I enjoy it as well, but local will always be the best. A big part of why I buy these fighting games is to play with my brother and my cousin. I sometimes even get my parents to jump in.

      • Yeah I totally agree. I know online is popular in gaming but even I want to play with my brother locally splitscreen. Usually these anime fighting games are meant to be played locally but this game failed to do so. No matter what, I like games with local play. I don’t want to do deal with online issues.
