As part of the 20th anniversary, the popular manga series One Piece will become a live-action Hollywood TV series. It will be worked by Tomorrow Studios and producer Marty Adelstein (Teen Wolf, Prison Break). Eiichiro Oda, manga author of One Piece left a message to studios in regards to sticking to the original story and concern of fans:

This is the person and studios who are also working on the live-action Cowboy Bebop TV series.

  1. I was surprised to read the news. (Makes more sense than Saint Seiya though.)

What really stood out to me was that Adelstein says he wants to make this an expensive series. So I decided to do research on expensive TV shows for my TheOASG column.

  2. Thank you for always sharing this kind of information and in all honesty I’m very skeptical about live adaptations of any kind of anime, especially one piece, but let’s see what they’re going to pull off.

  3. Live actions normally suck but at the same time I wish they could really do a great job. One Piece live action could be amazing but it’s hard. Fingers crossed!
