TGIF!
Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to another episode of Friday Funny. Before we start the Friday memes, I got some news recap of this week to share. Bur, I will tell this first. Today is the movie adaptation to the popular video game franchise Tomb Raider. Not to be confused, this movie will be based on the 2013 version of the game Tomb Raider which came out for PS3 and Xbox 360 and later re-released for PS4 and X1. If you didn’t know, in 2001, there was a Tomb Raider movie titled Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and it had Angelina Jolie playing as Lara Croft; she came back for the sequel Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life in 2003. However, in this new movie, the movie will focus on a younger Lara Croft after her college years and the actress playing as Lara will be Alicia Vikander. I already played the Tomb Raider game on the PS4 and I have to say, this game’ story is pretty dark and violent and it really shows how much Lara went through. I hope the movie will be able to capture important moments for Lara and the story from the game. If you have living under rock, here is what is Tomb Raider and why is important in video game history. Inspired by the movies Indiana Jones, video game companies like Eidos Interactive and developed by Core Design created a video game where players can explore ruins and temples to uncover treasure and fend off against animals and hired mercs. Instead of playing as a man, you play as a woman named Lara Croft. Lara Croft is almost like Bruce Wayne in Batman where she is rich, but she uses her money to explore the world and uncover untold riches and she is Princess Peach. Lara can fight and she knows how to shoot with guns and bow and arrows and even survive in the wild. Tomb Raider first came out in 1996 on PS1 during the time where Crash and Spyro were popular. She has a rich game history and thanks to Square Enix (well-known for Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts), players can enjoy Tomb Raider and play as the young woman and learn about her starting life.
This is off topic, but I saw the Yu-Gi-Oh! the Movie at theaters on Sunday March 11th. You can read my review and experience in parts 1 and 2 of my post.
In recap news, as the popular Shonen Jump series Dragon Ball Super comes to an end, FUNimation and the creator of Dragon Ball announced some exciting news for fans. Announced and marked for December 14th, get ready a Dragon Ball Super movie. According to the notes, Akira Toriyama will return to direct the movie again and it will take place after Dragon Ball Super. The story will talk about the Saiyans and Frieza’s involvement.
Now it’s time for some fighting game news! For Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, get ready for a DLC character to join the fight. Revealed on Twitter, Vayne from Final Fantasy XII will be playable and available to download on April. If you bought the season pass, you will be able to download for free on April along with other characters in the following month. If you have not, get ready to buy him. Also planning to come out on April, Dragon Ball FighterZ will be releasing the Legendary Super Saiyan Broly. Broly is a popular movie villain who appears more than once in the movies along with video games. His rage for killing Goku is overwhelming and he is known the Legendary Super Saiyan because he was born with a power level over 10,000. Like Dissidia, if you want him, get ready to buy or buy the season pass. Last but not least, get ready for guest characters in fighting games! On March 20th, Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV will be joining Tekken 7 as the third guest character DLC. Also coming out, in Soul Calibur VI, get ready to play as Geralt of Rivia from Witcher 3. He will be the guest character in this game.

Happy Friday! Have a good weekend. Looking foward to seeing the new Tomb Raider movie. Great to see the new Avengers trailer today as well, looks awesome!
I am going to check out the trailer at your blog. I am hoping this Tomb Raider movie does great. Happy Friday to you!
Cheers! Just been watching the trailer a few times over, its brilliant! Yep, sure the Tomb Raider film will do well too. Cheers and have a great weekend 🙂
Cheers! It looks like for the Tomb Raider they took notes from the games and tried to make it look epic. Let me know if you’re going to see it. 🙂
I can’t see the new Tomb Raider yet, though I loved the game reboot, so not sure about which one I’d prefer. That said, Angelina had her own charm as Tomb Raider, she just really needed a better script to work with.
The game reboot is pretty fun and I need to play the sequel so I can get ready for the upcoming new one. I agree that Angelina was a great Lara, but the story of the movie needed more work.
I also need to get the sequel game and though I’m really not sure I have the time right now.
Haha I feel you. Before we can get any new games, we need time and money.
I saw the jelly bean girls!
Me too. The jelly beans look good.
