Great news Nintendo fans, a new fighter joins Super Smash Bros Ultimate! It’s also the Nintendo’s conference in this E3 day. Joining Joker and Piranha Plant, we have the classic N64 video game character Banjo and Kazooie. These two dynamic duo made their debut in the Nintendo 64 and it was developed by the company Rare. It wasn’t until Microsoft bought Rare and took games IP like Banjo-Kazooie and Battletoads. Also coming to Smash Ultimate, we have another RPG character joining the fight. The Hero from the popular JRPG Dragon’s Quest joins Smash. In the trailer, you can play as either recent Hero from Dragon Quest XI or even play as his other versions from the past games.
The Hero from Dragon Quest is expect to be in the game in summer and Banjo-Kazooie will be in Fall. These characters are DLC and can be bought separately or together in the Fighter’s Pass.
But wait there’s more! According to GameSpot, the recent title of Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive’s Age, will be coming to Nintendo Switch! This game will be in Fall.
You can bet I am excited for all this OG and new Square Enix love. A bit of a shame about Banjo being added. I feel that it really didn’t hit the nail on the whole, “You’d never expect them in Smash” sorta vibe, but still a great childhood nostalgia jam.
Yeah I think they added him for nostalgia gamers. It’s cool they added him though. He probably fits in the category like Ridley and King K. Rool where many fans have been demanding him for a long time. I am so glad to buy the Fighters Pass.
