Remember that little Easter egg where in Spider-Man 2 (2004) where the Daily Bugle referenced Dr. Strange? Well, it is ironic to say the movie director behind the Tobey Maquire version of Spider-Man will be in charge of the next Dr. Strange Movie.
According to an article by IGN, movie director Sam Raimi will be in charge of directing the upcoming MCU film Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In a interview, he describes his thoughts towards Dr. Strange:
“I loved Doctor Strange as a kid, but he was always after Spider-Man and Batman for me, he was probably at number five for me of great comic book characters,” Raimi described. “He was so original, but when we had that moment in Spider-Man 2 I had no idea that we would ever be making a Doctor Strange movie, so it was really funny to me that coincidentally that line was in the movie. I gotta say I wish we had the foresight to know that I was going to be involved in the project.”
Sam Raimi is a movie director that directed all three Spider-Man movies from 2002-2007 where he casted Tobey Maguire has Spider-Man.
