April 2021 Funko Pop Haul

Here we go again for another fun and exciting post where I share with you my Pop collection. As a fan of Funko Pops, it’s my duty to hunt and collect the rare items for my collection. April is a shorter month than March, but I was able to snag some rarity via purchases. Whether they were online or in person, I will take what I want. Check it out!

96. Donald Duck (BN Funko Exclusive 2019 Fall Convention LE)

Besides Mickey Mouse, I also like Donald Duck. I got this Donald figure from a Barnes and Noble purchase from online shopping. I wanted to get this exclusive Disney figure along with trying to collect the Sword Art Online Progressive manga. I don’t know what episode/short is this Donald is from, but he looks cute in his firefighter gear. I am huge fan of Disney and I couldn’t resist this duck.

97. Deathstroke (Hot topic Exclusive)

From another exclusive, I got these items from Hot Topic. I bought myself a Sonic the Hedgehog water bottle filled with Sonic stickers and the DC character Deathstroke Pop figure. Deathstroke is one of my favorite DC villains. He may look like Deadpool, but Deathstroke is no laughing joke. This guy is equipped with a deadly arsenal and healing factor and he is incredible skilled in fighting that could be compared to Batman. Slade Wilson is a force to be reckoned with.

98. Battle-Scarred Kong from Godzilla vs Kong

Based on March’s 2021 film, Funko created Pop figures based on the recent monster brawl movie Godzilla vs Kong. I saw this movie on HBO Max and I enjoyed every minute of it. Seeing the powerful monsters Godzilla and King Kong duke it out was pure fanservice. I bought this figure on my dates at Barnes and Noble. I was shopping with my girlfriend and I saw this Kong figure along with other Pop figures in a little section. I didn’t find Godzilla, but I find this version of Kong. This Kong has fresh battle scars on his chest and a piece of a broken crane.

99-100. Ponyta and Raichu from Pokemon

On the same date where I bought Kong from Barnes and Noble, I went shopping at GameStop. GameStop was having a buy two and get one free Pop Funko sale for Pro Day. I bought these two Pokemon figures and I got the Flash figure from the CW show The Flash. I don’t have the Flash since I gave it to my sister who is a huge fan of the show. I did keep these two Pokemon. These two Pokemon are from the Kanto region. Ponyta is a fire type Pokemon and Raichu is electric and the evolved form version of Pikachu.

I officially have 100 figures!

Friday Funny 318: Tell Me Why

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome everyone for another Friday episode hosted by me, Matthew! I hope everyone is doing well this week. I am going to be short on the news since I don’t have much to share. In my personal life, it’s been a struggle since I got sick this week and I am not fully 100 percent. In case you didn’t know on Toonami, Dr. Stone season 2 aired on TV at Toonami last week. If you want to watch another Shonen Jump title like My Hero Academia season 5 or The Promised Neverland season 2, check out season 2 of Dr. Stone. I have one major bad news to share with you that recently happened this week. It has been reported that Berserk manga author Kentaro Miura passed away on May 6th this year. The news of this started this week and fans took it hard. I pray for his family and friends of this tragic news and I am sorry to hear his fans are hurting.

News broke out yesterday and I have unfortunately have to inform everyone that manga author Kentaro Miura has passed away. In 1988, he created his first draft of Berserk at Nihon University and in 1989, he revised the first chapter and published it.

Unboxing: SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best 200 Episodes Ever Bundle (Walmart Exclusive)

See the source image

Even though I am known for loving anime, I also have a soft spot for cartoons. Currently running in Nickelodeon, the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants is the most popular cartoon on TV and other media. From TV episodes, toys, video games and even the memes, SpongeBob is popular all over the world. From time to time, if I am not watching anime, I usually have SpongeBob on TV and I let the talking yellow sponge keep me entertained. Despite the show being popular, I wanted to grab this SpongeBob DVD bundle. With streaming services rising such as Paramount Plus and even the notorious news that an episode or two got removed for sensitive content, it’s highly recommended to buy shows on physical copy just in case if DVDs becomes obsolete or other episodes becomes removed based on content.

Back in late March, I placed an order from Walmart online and I purchased SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best 200 Episodes Ever Bundle. I specifically chose this Walmart bundle because for $70, you get the first 200 episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants from season 1 to season 9 and SpongeBob behind the scenes book called the SpongeBob SquarePants Experience Book. The DVD discs also includes the TV specials such as SpongeBob B.C. (Before Comedy), the Lost Episode (the Sponge Who Could Fly). As an added bonus, this also includes scenes that were briefly aired on TV on release, but later removed. For example, the episode “Shanghaied” had alternate scenes on the first airing, but as time passed, Nickelodeon removed them and gave us one scene. Scenes that were removed due to graphic imagery like the gasoline scene in “Just One Bite” are restored and can be viewed in the discs. Rest assure to you fans that the episode “Mid-Life Crustacean” is still intact. In case you didn’t know, Paramount Plus has removed this episode from the streaming services due to sensitive content for kids because there is a scene where SpongeBob, Patrick and Mr. Krabs are trying to do a panty raid. This DVD bundle also includes a huge poster containing the main characters and side characters from the SpongeBob cartoon.

Like I mentioned earlier, I spent a lot for this bundle. Besides the episodes, I also got this interesting book called The SpongeBob SquarePants Experience Book. This book includes sketches and storyboard notes on each episode of SpongeBob from the people who helped made the show. We got information and comments even from the character’s voice actors. The book also has some funny gags in to such as replica picture of Squidward’s “Bold and Brash” art and Mr. Krab’s “Secret Formula”.

If you want to be the envy of your friends and obtain some awesome SpongeBob collector’s goods, I recommend buying this bundle from Walmart. For 70 bucks, you get the first 200 aired episodes of SpongeBob and you get a book detailing all the info on cartoon’s production team. I will leave a link to Walmart if you are interested.

Friday Funny 317: Waiting can be fun…

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back for another funny episode of Friday Funny. It’s me, Matthew with memes I taken from iFunny and I will be sharing with you today. I hope everyone had a good Mother’s Day this past weekend. I got some quick news for you to distract you from the harsh reality that it is going to be a while until we get a PS5 in stock. Marvel announced some exciting news for this year and years after. Sony revealed the trailer to the movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Taking place after the events of 2018’s film, Eddie adjusts to his new life living with his symbiotic friend Venom. What makes this movie epic is that this will be the first time Carnage will make a live-action appearance. Carnage is a deadly Marvel villain that took the power of both Spider-Man and Venom combined to stop in the comics. Marvel Studios revealed that besides the upcoming Black Widow movie, we’re going to be getting tons of movies in the Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This year we’re getting Shang-Chi, The Eternals and the third Spider-Man movie. In the years later, we’re getting sequels featuring Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Thor. A Fantastic Four movis is planned to join the MCU, but with an unknown date. Speaking of movies, we’re getting another Dragon Ball Super movie. It’s unknown on the details, but Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama stated that he will be involved with the movie and expect an “unexpected charcter”.
