What is the Sow A Seed Blogger Award?

In the words of YumDeku:

Sow A Seed Blogger Award is an award given to bloggers who have been creative, positive, inspiring, hardworking and dedicated. Who make blogging fun and have been wonderful for the blogging community. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get.

After the dedication and vast amount of hours they have kept into their blogs. It’s time for them to share some of their knowledge with newbie and veteran bloggers. To create a sort of citadel of tips that can help other bloggers especially the newest in the community.

My Brief Anime Blog Story

I think I mentioned this story before, but I’ll give you the long story short treatment. I first got into blogging because of a college class assignment at University. In my English class, we had to sign up to get WordPress to discuss the public sphere. After I got done with the class, I abandoned this blog and I didn’t come back until 2015 when I decided to use it for my hobby. When I first started, I didn’t get any followers and I didn’t know where to begin. I didn’t know what I wanted to do for my blog. The only that fascinated me was getting the news on my interests like anime, video games and movies. I wanted to share the news to everyone, but I didn’t have any followers and I didn’t have other social media to help me spread out like Twitter and Facebook. In order to gain followers, I have to leave my blog and find them at their blogs. I had to step out of my comfort zone and talk to people who has been writing longer than me. I learned that in order to grow, I need to step out of my space and expand my horizon.

top 5 advice for new and old bloggers:

1. Do what you can.

In the words of Robert Freeman, or “Grandad”, from Boondocks, do what you can. If you are starting out as a blogger, do what you can do and learn as you continue to write. Don’t expect to be the most popular writer on day one. There’s going to be obstacles and that’s normal. Don’t be discourage if you fail on your projects. Take it slow and steady.

2. Take breaks from online – no shame on resting.

It’s important to take breaks once in a while. We live in a world where we are always connected to online. Sometimes it’s best to log off and enjoy the outside world. No notifications or messages. Enjoy some quietness and get plenty of sleep.

3. This is your blog, speak up and be heard!

If you are creating your own blog and you have the ability to write out what you want to say. When I started this site, I wanted a place to speak up. Outside this online world, I keep my opinions to myself. When I am online here, I want to say what I feel like saying. If I want to write something that has been in my head, I’ll write it. This blog is your identity. Use your words to put it out there and let people see what’s your thoughts.

4. Don’t be a stranger, be sure to hello.

When starting out a blog site, you want people to check out your site. Rather waiting and hoping someone randomly show up to your site, you go to them. Go explore people’s site and pay a visit. Like their posts or comment in order to get their attention. You might not get a response in seconds, but I am sure they will acknowledge that someone came all this way to see them. Getting visitors might take a while, but it will be worth it. if you somehow find someone you find interesting, it could lead to long lasting friendships.

5. Not everyone will agree with you, move on.

Depending on what you write or who you talk to, not everyone is going to agree on your opinions. Some may not find you interesting. It’s called life and life would be boring if everyone agreed on  one thing. You can post an article on a topic you are passionate enough and they might not care about it. For whatever, if it comes to this point, you might meet people who just not interested in you. You can have 99 followers who like your stuff and have one person who doesn’t. It’s not the end of the world. Rather than focus on that one person, focus on the multitude that actually loves your stuff.
