Well, I got some bad news for anyone who enjoys Sentai FIlmworks anime. If you enjoyed anime like Akame ga Kill, Danmachi or Food Wars, you might want to consider getting HIDIVE. Announced yesterday, Crunchyroll will be removing a total of 77 Sentai Filmworks anime at the end of March. Specifically speaking, March 31st. It’s unknown why this is happening. In recent news, Funimation merges with Crunchyroll and all of Funimation titled anime are available to stream at Crunchyroll instead. Entertainment company AMC, well known for broadcasting The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad, has purchased Sentai in January.

That’s… a lot.
It is. I can’t believe these anime titles are leaving at the end of the month.
There are a few top notch anime we’ll lose. Will we be able to see them on AMC? Not much point if having them if you aren’t going to show them.
It got me wondering too. The same company that airs these shows suddenly have interest on buying Sentai. I actually assumed anime from Sentai would be on the AMC channel.
Yeah, there’s some really good series in this list. Amagi Brilliant Park is awesome, and Hozuki’s Cool Headedness is so funny. Kind of a bummer that we won’t be able to see them on Crunchyroll any more.
I haven’t seen those titles, but I did enjoy the other anime like Akame ga Kill and Parasyte. I guess Sentai wants to focus on promoting their streaming service instead.
That’s definitely a big blow. Between that and now they will be charging for all new titles coming up, seems like the worst fears about the merger are coming true
Yeah that stinks. Now if you want to watch brand new shows at Crunchyroll and watch Sentai, you need both anime subscriptions with CR and HIDIVE. Sony is trying to market anime with this merge.
