Despite fans getting excited for the upcoming Sonic collection game Sonic Origins, be prepared for some bad news. In case if you didn’t know, Sonic Origins is a brand new game collection that will feature Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 and Knuckles, and Sonic CD. It will be released in all digital platforms on June 23rd, 2022. However, Sega announced some major news in regards to the already released games for the individual classics. It’s been announced that on May 20th, 2022, Sega will be delisting and removing Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles and Sonic CD in digital outlets. The only games that won’t be affected is the SEGA AGES series version of Sonic 1 and 2 and the titles on the Nintendo Switch Online Sega Genesis expansion app.
If you want to get these standalone games, go and get them now. If you are too late, the only games you can get is Sonic Origins or the ones in the Switch.
