Friday Funny 393: Witch Time Baby!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome everyone for the last day Friday of October. I hope everyone is ready to say goodbye to October because after this weekend, we’ll be in November. Before we begin, let’s go over some quick recaps this month. While She-Hulk was a mixed bag for the Marvel community, I been hearing DC’s Black Adam is more entertaining than what we’re getting from Marvel. Speaking of DC, it’s been reported that director James Gunn will be Co-leading DC studio movies. The same guy who directed the Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad movie will be taking over on the DC movies. As an added bonus to DC news, Henry Cavill will be coming back as Superman. His last role of the character was in the Justice League (both versions from Joss Whedon and Zach Snyder). In video game news, we got the new DC game Gotham Knights that came out last week. While the game is not present in the Arkham games and, this game is its own story. I hear the game is fun, but the graphics according to fans is a downgrade. Speaking of games, Nintendo released the long awaited Bayonetta 3 game. The angel beauty is back and ready to take on the world with a new story and new characters. However, with good news, comes with bad news with recent controversies. According to previous voice actress Hellena Taylor, she was offered to voice her character for $4,000 for the game and to her that’s very small. However, according to Platinum games, she was actually offered more, and the voice actress wanted more than $15,000. With things getting complicated, the English Dub community is a mess and filled with business greed. Besides Bayonetta news, we finally got Persona 5 Royal on the Switch and Xbox. Started from the PS3, this game is highly praised for the characters, story and music. Wait until 2023 and we’ll get Persona 3 and 4 on the other consoles.

Friday Funny 392: The Rock is back in black!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome everyone for a brand new episode of Friday Funny. Halloween is right around the corner and it’s time to get your Halloween costumes. If you need costumes ideas, I suggest something from the comic books. Today is the movie release of DC’s Black Adam. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is back in the DC universe to play as DC’s powerful antihero. Besides seeing Black Adam in the silver screen, we have the new heroes from the Justice Society of America (JSA) such Doctor Fate, Atom Smasher, Hawkman and Cyclone. Will Black Adam become the next hero or will he turn dark and seek destruction on the world? Speaking of DC, get ready for a brand DC video game. Gotham Knights is also released for the PS5, XB S|X and PC. Whether you are playing solo or co-op, you can play as Knightwing, Robin, Red Hood and Batgirl. With no Batman or Jim Gordon, it’s up to the Batman family to protect Gotham from Batman’s arch enemies and unravel the mysterious cult the Court of Owls. According to sources, Gotham Knights is a stand alone game; it’s not part of the Arkham games from Rocksteady. Even though this game was made by WB Montreal, same company who made Arkham Origins, this game is not connected.

Friday Funny 391: Seven Deadly Sins – Sloth

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome everyone for a brand new Friday episode. I hope everyone is enjoying the cool weather and the smell of pumpkin spice because I am here to bring some sweet memes. Before we begin let’s go over some fast recap news. In anime news, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War and Chainsaw Man has made their anime debut this week. Unfortunately for some, in order to watch this final arc of Bleach, if you are living in the US, you need Hulu to stream or otherwise, you need Disney Plus. Last time I checked, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be split into 4 fours, so be prepared for the return of a long Shonen anime. Chainsaw Man will be streaming on Crunchyroll and it will have a total of 12 ED songs for every new episode. This fall is going to be huge in anime goodness. In last week’s news, we had preview of the first look of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. We got the chance to hear Bowser, Mario and Toad’s voices and see the animation. The studio behind the animation is Illumination Studios who previously worked on movies like Despicable Me and Minions and the movie project is being supervised by Mario Bros creator Shigeru Miyamoto. In my personal news, I finally got myself an Xbox Series S. This is the first Xbox console I ever owned and I am happy to get one. With the console’s features, I can use the backward compatibly and play classic Xbox games from the first console to now. Unfortunately, but expected, I can only play digital games; no physical copies. The first game I bought myself was Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. I’m playing a game made from the Xbox 360 era in a modern day console.

Last but not least, it’s confession time. Have you ever been so lazy you have no motivation in life? You need to wake up from your slumber and get going! Don’t let life pass away! It’s good to rest, but don’t forget about the enjoyment of a hard day’s work. Don’t be lazy to help and motivate others. Use your gifts to do what you want to do in the future. Confess, my brothers and sisters!

Check out some movie trailers and feel the hype!

Are you not entertained?

September 2022: Funko Pop Haul

Greetings collectors across the globe! I am back with another haul post from Funko hobby. If you been following me, I like to show off the monthly hauls from my recent purchases of Funko Pop collection. For this haul, it’s another small post, but it is pretty valuable. Let me show you!

151. Simba with a VHS cover of The Lion King (Amazon Exclusive)

As someone who grew up with Disney, I felt like I had to get this figure. I don’t usually pre-order figures unless it’s a major want, but when I do, I make it a priority to get what I want. I pre-ordered this figure way back around May. It finally came to my house and in good condition. What makes this figure stand out is that the box is based on the classic VHS cover of The Lion King animated movie. We have an adult Simba on the pride rock with the movie cover on the background. I really like this throwback. Before Disney Plus, I always watched movies on video. DVDs wasn’t popular around this time. This figure is taller than my usual pops, but it is nice to see some classic art being used as references.

A while back, everyone found out the news that Yu-Gi-Oh! manga writer Kazuki Takahashi passed away due to drowning at the coast of the Okinawa Islands in July this year. The news was devasting to Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. Recently reported, new sources has been revealed that Takahashi, a well-known and loved manga writer, died as a hero. According to the site Stars and Stripes, the US military confirmed that Takahashi was out swimming to help save three people caught in a riptide. Diving instructor Major Robert Bourgeau was at Mermaid’s Grotto with his students and saw that three people was trapped out in the sea because of a riptide. One of the victims was a daughter who got caught and her mother was in land and asking for help. While saving the swimmers, Takahashi was around the area and took it upon himself to help the Major. He went out to save the swimmers out there in the riptide, but he never resurfaced. Despite not noticing the manga author in the sea, Bourgeau stated that Takahashi was a hero.

“You play that ‘what if’ game a lot. This guy had a huge impact on the world.”

-Major Robert Bourgeau

With this new information, fans online now know the back story upon Takahashi’s cause of death and the eyewitness of the scene.

Friday Funny 390: The Bleach is real!

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome everyone for another exciting episode of Friday Funny. I hope everyone is having a great day today. Today is the first Friday of October. Before we begin, let us be prepared for the upcoming arrival of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. This anime is coming back to finish the story. From I hear, the creator of the manga will be involved in this anime and he wants to make sure to give fans what they want. In other news, it’s been 20 years since we got Naruto the anime. Studio Pierrot has been showing off iconic moments from the anime and even redid the animation to show off those moments. I wonder if we can get a “Brotherhood” treatment for Naruto. Give us up to date animation and skip all the fillers. Unfortunately for the Bleach news, it won’t be on Crunchyroll, but rather on Hulu. International fans like Japan will watch this series on Disney Plus. Besides anime, get ready for some brand new games for the Nintendo Switch for the month of October. First, we have the Platinum Square-Enix game NieR: Automata The End of Yohra Edition. Recently released in 2017 for the PS4, Nintendo fans can experience this beautiful and heart-wrenching game on the Switch. As of now, we have this NieR Automata for PlayStation, Xbox, PC and the Switch. When in Rome, let them eat (2B’s) cake I wonder if there will be plans for NieR: Replicant to be ported for Switch. Coming out on the 20s date of October we have Bayonetta 3 and Persona 5 Royal. Both these games have will be released days before we get to Halloween. This a treat for Switch fans, but the trick is that you need a Switch and some money.

With only a few day left, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is coming this October. With a few English Dub actors announced, fans have been wanting to know where can we stream the anime’s return. Yesterday, it’s been announced that Bleach will be streaming in the US on Hulu and international regions will watch this on Disney+. This means Bleach won’t be streaming via Crunchyroll.
