Warner Bros plans out DC movies

Step aside Marvel, DC is planning to release to their planned movies and get ready for people to show up at the movies.

Warner Bros and DC comics has announced some major plans for the future DC movies. First, it’s been announced that the upcoming Batman movie. The Batman, will be playing in theaters on June 25th, 2021. The screenwriter and director of the movie will be Matt Reeves. Also, it looks like we might be getting a new Batman/Bruce Wayne actor because it’s been reported that Ben Affleck will not be returning as the Caped Crusader. Ben Affleck played as Batman in the movies, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League and briefly in Suicide Squad.

Besides Batman, get ready for a reboot movie. Revealed at Variety, former Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is in the works of rebooting the 2016 movie Suicide Squad. The reboot Suicide Suicide Squad will be in theaters in August 6th, 2021.

Competing against Marvel and Sony’s movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, we might be getting a Batman animated movie, but with a twist: the movie will be about Batman Beyond. According to ComicBook.com, a leak was discovered at the DCEU subreddit and it shows concept art of Terry McGinnis, current Batman of Batman Beyond after Bruce retired being a hero, and sketches of the Batcave. There is no release date yet.

One Piece 14th movie shows sketches of Straw Hat’s sports clothes

In my last post about the One Piece 14th movie, we were given a key visual image and the movie being titled as One Piece Stampede. While we still don’t know about the plot of the movie or we haven’t been given a full trailer, we did get some art sketches from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda. Oda is back and he just revealed the sports gear on the Straw Hat crew in rough sketches.

This is the only information I found at Crunchyroll, but I will try to keep you guys up to date. One Piece Stampede is the 14th movie and it also commemorates 20 years of the One Piece anime

Venom Walmart Exclusive DVD combo unbox

Hello everyone! Welcome back for another fun post from yours truly. I hope everyone had a great weekend. I mentioned a while back that I went to see Venom on October of 2018. It was a fun movie to watch and I like this Venom better than the one from Spider-Man 3. When I heard of news of this movie was ready to preorder for the Christmas season, I quickly placed an order from Walmart. For $30, Walmart was selling an exclusive copy which contains the movie Venom for DVD, Blu-Ray, Digital and even an action figure. The Twitter account for Venom even made a fun 90s video commercial promoting the action figure.

Now that I got this, let me show off some pictures!

The box set for the movie is pretty big, but the action figure itself is quite small. The box is usual cardboard and inside the Blu-Ray case which has the two discs for DVD and Blu-Ray and a redeem code for the digital. The Actio figure is small which is the average size of an action figure. Overall, I say it’s a good deal if you want to make use of your money. I will probably do a Venom movie review in the future. For $30, you get all the movie formats along with a nifty figure that is not Pop Funko figure. Walmart does an excellent job on exclusives.

Tokusatsu version Spider-Man in Spider-Verse sequel?

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is becoming Sony’s greatest animated movie and the movie is already getting positive feedback from fans and non Marvel fans. It was mentioned a while back if there was a sequel, it might be a spinoff featuring the female versions of Spider-Man. However, we did get news from the producer of the movie saying that they promise to include this particular version of Spider-Man in a sequel. In a tweet, Philip Lord confirmed that if Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse makes over $200 million, the sequel movie will include the Tokusatsu version of Spider-Man also nicknamed Supaidaman. Just in case you missed out, in the trailers, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse included these versions of Spider-Men: Miles Morales (Protagonist), Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, Peter Porker, Peni Parker and Spider-Man Noir. If a sequel is possible and it makes money, we could get Supaidaman.

This Japanese version is owned by Toei and it is a live action series in the 1970s. Here is what Anime News Network describes it:

Toei‘s Spider-Man starred actor Shinji Tōdō as Takuya Yamashiro, a 22-year-old motocross racer by day and Spider-Man by night. His superhero alter-ego faces the dangerous Iron Cross Army when he dons the Spider Protector suit he keeps in his Spider Bracelet. The bracelet also shoots webbing and can summon the Spider Machine GP-7 flying car and the Marveller spacecraft. The Marveller can also transform into the mecha Leopardon.

According to the official website, this 14th movie is called One Piece Stampede. The movie is set to be release in Japan in August 2019. It’s unknown if it’s going to be another “Film” title like Film Gold, Strong World or Z in which Eiichiro Oda was involved.

I will try to keep you guys up to date on this 2019 movie.

ICYMI: Marvel releases trailers for Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 movie with title

In case you been sleeping under a rock or drifting in space, here is what you may or may not know what’s going in the world of movies. It’s been released last week that Marvel released another trailer for the upcoming March movie Captain Marvel. In this trailer, we get to see some awesome fight scenes with the character Carol Denvers as she uses cosmic powers. We also get to learn about how did she get these powers. Young Nick Fury is also in this movie and he is going to be involved with Carol’s adventure as they encounter other cosmic people like the shape-shifting aliens the Skrulls and learn about the Kree army in which gave Carol’s powers.

Captain Marvel is set to be released on March 2019

Revealed this Friday, Marvel just unvieled the long and awaited trailer for the 4th Avengers movie for 2019. This new trailer also revealed the title. No longer called Avengers 4, but now it is officially called Avengers: Endgame. Taking place after the events of Infinity War, Iron Man and the rest of heros mourn the loss of their heroic comrades after a battle with Thanos. Avengers: Endgame will be released on April 2019 instead of May.

Martial Arts Hero Shang-Chi joins the MCU?!

If you guys thought that Black Panther was a revolutionary movie with a diverse cast of African Americans, get ready for another character to influence the Asian-American community for this kung-fu hero. It’s been reported that the martial arts fighter Shang-Chi will most likely get his own movie within the MCU. This movie project will take place after the movie Avengers 4 is finished. If you think Amadeus Cho Hulk or Cindy Moon Silk is a great Asian Marvel hero, you have not met Shang-Chi. If you’re wondering, who is this character and why is he great, IGN has you covered. I am not going to cover everything they described, but I will point out the highlights.

He’s pretty much Ryu from Street Fighter!

IGN described Shang-Chi has a warrior devoted to fighting and training. Shang-Chi travels all over the world in hopes to mastering his techniques.

No super soldier serum needed, just martial arts!

Ign pointed out that Shang-Chi is a hero that doesn’t even have super powers. It’s mentioned that he doesn’t need any support for combat such as Daredvil’s heightened sense or Captain America’s super soldier serum. Instead, Shang-Chi just trains himself to be a strong human and his abilities allows him to even deflect and dodge bullets. He is the master of hand to hand combat without powers… or it seems.

Shadow Clone jutsu?

I guess Marvel wanted to give Shang-Chi powers. IGN later mentioned that Marvel eventually gave him the ability to spawn clones and the clones can imitate his fight style.

70s was all about fighting

Shang-Chi made his debut in 1973’s Special Marvel Edition #15. The 70’s was the peak time for superheroes in comic books. Also, around this time, the 1970’s was the time where kung-fu was popular in comic books and movies. Unfortunately, it didn’t last as the 80’s came by and the plans of a TV series based on Shang-Chi  never saw the light of day.

Friend in Need

Shang-Chi has teamed up with many Marvel heroes in the past. Shang-Chi has helped Spider-Man in fighting after he lost the Spider Sense ability. He has also teamed up with Daredevil and the Avengers. He has also helped with his martial fighter friends such as Iron Fist in Heroes for Hire and Collen Wing in Daughters of the Dragon.

Modern: Where is he?

Currently, Shang-Chi is in the free mobile game Marvel Future Fight. Despite his hand to hand combat skills, he never made it in any video game besides app game. Now with the news from Marvel, movie writer Dave Callaham will be in charge of the screenplay who is also working on the movie Wonder Woman 1984.

What do you think about this character? What’s your opinion on a movie focused on him?

My Pop Funko figure collection…thus far

Howdy fans! Welcome back to another fun filled post from yours truly. Some of you already know this, but I like to collect stuff. I collect anime, manga and video games. If I was a Marvel character, I would be the Collector. One of the things I enjoy collecting is Pop Funko figures. You probably seen these bobble-head like figures in stores like Hot Topic, GameStop and Walmart. These figures can come from any media like anime, video games, Disney, movies and other titles. Recently, I did an old post about my collection and I am back for an exciting update. I have officially filled one of my cabinets with Pop Funko figures. And yes, these figures are blocking my anime DVD collection too; they my personal protectors. I have two that is not in this picture and on a different shelf because I ran out of cabinet space.

I am going to go over what I collected and how I got them.

1. Kirito from Sword Art Online

Kirito was my very first figure ever owning. I got him in 2017 for a birthday weekend at a trip to Little Tokyo.

2. Donald Duck from Kingdom Hearts (Hot Topic Exclusive)

On my actual birthday in the same year, I bought this exclusive figure from Hot Topic. This was my first exclusive figure. This is Donald Duck from the Kingdom Hearts series in his royal wizard uniform.

3. Goofy from Kingdom Hearts (GameStop Exclusive)

I got this one from GameStop. Unfortunately, I don’t remember getting this same day as the exclusive Donald figure or day after. This version of Goofy is in his royal knight uniform from Kingdom Hearts.

4. Tony Stark w/Iron Man Helmet from Spider-Man:Homecoming (Summer 2017 convention exclusive)

I got this one from winning a contest from the official Pop Funko Twitter page. All I had to do was to follow the account and retweet for a chance to win. Winning this was an awesome experience. It was my first convention exclusive.

5-7. Asuna from Sword Art Online + Drax from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 bobble head (with gun blaster) + Sora from Kingdom Hearts

For Christmas of 2017, I got two figures; one from Sword Art Online and the other was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. My younger brother got me Drax (carrying a gun) and my friend Allison got me Asuna. Drax is my favorite character in Guardians of the Galaxy. I needed Asuna since I had Kirito and I felt like these two need to stay together. My friend Ezra also got me a figure since he knows I collect them. I got Sora from Kingdom Hearts; this is Sora in his KH2 appearance.

8. Super Saiyan Trunks from Dragon Ball Super (Hot Topic Exclusive)

I got this figure on the same day when Dragon Ball FighterZ was released in January 26th. Of course, I bought him and thanks to my parents encouraging me, I also bought Dragon Ball FighterZ.

9-12. Sonic with a Ring from Sonic the Hedgehog + Shadow the Hedgehog from Sonic the Hedgehog + Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog + Crash Bandicoot

I got this sweet deal from the Box Lunch store at a mall. I was happy to snag these babies since I did grew up playing these games and it’s nice having toy versions of my heroes and villains. I wish I could have got Cortex in the sale. Now I need to try to get Spyro.

13. Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

I actually wrote this in a late birthday post a while back. Once again, Allie knows m best. She got me baby Groot to go with my Drax figure, even though the box doesn’t say it and this is from movie GotG: Vol. 2.

14 + 15. Mickey Mouse (Steamboat Willie) + Mickey Mouse (Gold Diamond Barnes and Noble edition)

I like to use Twitter to find sales on anything. When I heard the Diamond Mickey Mouse figure was back for limited time at Barnes and Noble, I didn’t hesistate. For an added bonus, I bought the Steam Boat Willie version of Mickey Mouse to go along with the golden diamond version. Mickey Mouse did start off in a cartoon called Steamboat Willie.

16. Sora in Guardian Form from Kingdom Hearts III (Fall Convention 2018 exclusive)

As you can tell, I enjoying grabbing exclusives. When I heard there was an exclusive Sora figure being sold at the Walmart site, I unsuccessfully missed out. I was indecisive and debated if I should get this one or buy it with other figures for free shipping. When I told myself to get this one only, I added it to my cart, but then it was too late and it was out of stock. There was other retailers selling it approximately $40 and I thought it was a ridiculous price. The following day, @churozz , an expert in Kingdom Hearts merchandise news, gave an update that the figure was back in stock. Without hesitation, I bought it. This version of Sora is from the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III but with a new form called Guardian Form. There’s not much about this new form, but based on videos, Sora is shown fighting Heartless at Hercules world and his keyblade is able to transform into a shield and pummel his foes with incredible power.

17 +18. Venomized Tony Stark/Iron Man + Venomized Steve Rodgers/Captain America

Thank you Barnes and Nobles for your sales. Barnes and Nobles was having a buy one and one half off sale for any Pop figures. As someone who loves Venom and Marvel heroes, I bought these two. As a way to promote Sony’s movie Venom, Pop Funko designed these new figures which has the Marvel characters overtaken by the alien symbiotes. Ironically, there is no news of a Spider-Man figure with the black alien on it. I grabbed the Captain America and Iron Man versions to participate for the sale.

19. Sora with Dual Blasters from Kingdom Hearts III (Funko Insider Club from GameStop)

Some exclusives are hidden in websites. I bought this one when I found out from @churozz account that this figure was selling at GameStop. This version of Sora is from one of the trailers of Kingdom Hearts III where Sora can transform his keyblade into a pair of guns.

20. Hercules from the Disney movie Hercules (Limited  Edition Glow Chase)

I recently got this from a contest from the Twitter account @fundotcom_ and it was pretty simple to enter. It’s a pretty cool figure. I wonder what Glow Chase is.

With all these figures in total, I have 20 figures. Do you collect any Pop figures too? What is your favorite figure you enjoyed from this post or do you have one you cherish the most?

*This is my 87th post on my streak!
