Aniplex news: All new Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Blu-Ray sets for $100 each?!

Welcome anime fans! I bring you news and whether you take it as good or bad news, I am here to share with you what I found online.

Coming from Aniplex of America, the former Funimation anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood returns in a all new set of Blu-Ray sets. If you didn’t know, Funimation’s license towards the anime expired a while back and this meant that Funimation could no longer sell the anime in DVD/Blu-Ray format or stream the series. Instead, the anime was brought back to Aniplex, the same company that previously agreed to sell with Funimation. Announced today, Aniplex of America revealed the news of re-releasing the anime Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in Blu-Ray sets. There will be two sets with a rigid box art made by the creator of the series and each will cost $100 each. The anime will be released on November 15th, 2018.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a reboot version of the classic series and it follows the manga, or the original story.

If you have been unable to go to Anime Expo like me but you have been following the news, I will be announcing some exciting news in which may peak your interest. Just a heads up, if I missed anything, please comment down below and leave links so people can be informed as well. I won’t be able to get every news so feel free to help expand.

Aniplex of America

At the panel Aniplex of America announced that they will be releasing the home videos of the both anime Fate/Grand Order: First Order OVA and Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga.

Preoders will begin on July 5th for Fate/Grand Order: First Order OVA with the store price of $69.98 for Blu-Ray. The anime will be have English Sub and Dub, a booklet, soundtrack and other extras. Here is the synopsis:

The year is AD 2017
The last era in which magecraft still thrived.
The Chaldea Security Organization was founded to focus on preserving the continuation of human history. They observe a world which magecraft couldn’t observe and science couldn’t measure all to prevent the certain extinction of humanity. But one day, the future that Chaldea continued to observe disappears and humanity’s extinction in 2019 becomes clear. Rather, it had already happened.
The cause seems to be related to Fuyuki, a provincial town in Japan, in the year AD 2004. There, an “unobservable region” that had not existed before appears.
Based on the assumption that Fuyuki is the reason for humanity’s extinction, Chaldea issues an order to explore, investigate, and possibly destroy this singularity – a quest for the Holy Grail: the Grand Order.

Also announced is Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga. Aniplex will release the anime in two sets with the option to pay for DVD or Blu-Ray sets. The first set will be released on November 14, 2017 and the second set will be on February 13, 2018. The DVD will be priced as $29.96 and the Blu-Ray will be $59.96. The sets will each have bonus content. Here is the anime synopsis:
Assiah, the realm of humans, and Gehenna, the realm of demons. Normally, these two dimensions would never intersect, but having possessed all material substances, the demons are now intruding on the material world. But among the human race, there are those who can exorcise such demons—the exorcists.

Rin Okumura kept the fact that he was Satan’s offspring a secret from everyone and decided to become an exorcist. He began his training at True Cross Academy but following the incidents involving Amaimon’s raid, his lineage became apparent. Fearing his true nature and the blue flames marking his connection to Gehenna, Rin’s classmates all distanced themselves from him. Meanwhile, the academy was on high alert when they realized that the “Left Eye of the Impure King” had been stolen! What lies ahead for Rin and his classmates?
