The movies I seen in spring and summer 2018

https://siriuswrites.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/ca2.gif?w=500

Since we are reaching the end of summer, it’s time to prepare for the last two seasons of 2018: fall and winter. With fall coming in, I had a good time with spring and summer. Spring time for me was good because not only I got a job which gives me good pay and a friendly environment, but this is around the time I started to watch a lot movies in theaters. Summer may have been intense in my job, but it was a good time to sit down and have of a bucket of popcorn and watch a movie with the AC in theaters. 2018 has been a great year to watch some movies and it feels like every year it’s going to be even better. Today I am going to be sharing you the movies I have seen in the spring and summer season. Funny how can I keep track of the movie seasons and not anime seasons.

Marvel Avengers: Infinity War (April 27th)

If you are a Marvel fan, you probably already expected this movie to be a hit even after the first weekend. 10 years of building up to this point, Disney and Marvel did the impossible and made the biggest crossover movie. What started off with the first Avengers movie and now in 2018, we have the Avengers teaming up with Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy and even the high selling hero and movie character Black Panther. This movie also placed the spotlight on the anticipated villain Thanos and demonstrated his monstrous power. I really love this movie and I saw this movie right after day one of my job on May 4th; the original release date before it got moved up.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th)

Star Wars is very popular in sci-fi genre and it’s dedicated to the fans. Ever since Disney bought Star Wars, Disney has been dishing out everything that has to do with Star Wars. From the video games, TV series, comics, Disney will do anything make money of Star Wars. Besides the main story movies like Episodes 7 and 8, they also squeeze in spinoff movies such as Rogue One. Their recent spinoff movie focused on the young Han Solo and how he met inconic characters like Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca. This movie was different for sure, but in a way, it was fun to watch. I like seeing Han get sassy and try to outsmart his enemies. However, based on reports and news, this movie sadly fell after opening weekend and people wanted to focus on the Episode movies. In results, Disney decided to take a break of spinoff films and are now working on the last movie Episode 9 until someone else decides to make a new trilogy outside the Skywalker story.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6th)

After going through Infinity War, I wanted to take a break from the pain and have a good laugh. Taking place after Captain America: Civil War, Scott is under arrest and doing whatever it takes to kill boredom. When Hank Prym and Hope gets curious of the Quantaum Realm, they decide to make a goal to visit this tiny world in hopes to finding Hank’s wife who disappeared. Scott decides to help him, but this also attracts a villain who goes by Ghost who can phase through walls with technology. In short, she has some quantum powers and she’s seeking cure for this powers. Scott is going to have to shrink and enlarge himself if he wants to not only help Hank and Hope, but also try not to violate his house arrest. This movie also ties into Infinity War as well. I really enjoyed this movie for the humor. My family enjoyed it and we were able to forget the pain left from Infinity War… for a moment. I can’t wait for Ant-Man to show up in the next Avengers movie.

Incredibles 2 (June 15th)

It took about 14 years and we finally got the long awaited sequel to Pixar’s superhero family movie. Brad Bird returns to create another masterpiece and unites the voices of the heroes in this sequel. Taking place right after the first movie, the movie focuses on Elasticgirl (wife of Mr. Incredible) and shows off the awesome hero skills and prove that the world is ready to accept heroes. While the wife is busy, Bob is a stay home dad who has to take care of the kids and their issues like Violet’s boyfriend problem, Dash’s math questions and discovering Jack-Jack’s powers. This movie was so cool and seeing this really gives me the same vibes when I watched the first movie for the first time. This movie was so good that it came back in theaters in the Labor Day weekend.

Christopher Robin (August 3rd)

This movie was a guilty pleasure and the reason why I watched this movie because of nostalgia. If you are familiar with movie Hook with Robin Williams, you might know the central theme. Disney creates a live-action moving depicting an adult Christopher Robin who has forgotten his childhood friends Pooh and the rest of the gang in 100 Acre Woods. After going through life, Christopher has forgotten to have fun and now focuses only on work and succeeding life. It’s not until Pooh shows up to him and asks for help after losing his friends. I will admit, I did cry  while watching this movie. What got me was that the voice of Pooh was done by none other than Jim Cummings and hearing Pooh care about Christopher for years really hit me. It taught me that no matter how old you get, you should never lose your childhood. I also fell in love with the song used for one of the trailers online. The song is called One Foot played by Walk the Moon.

What kind of movies did see in these past months?

Vinimate unbox review – Mickey Mouse Birth by Sleep

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/iAOfOqOUgn4/maxresdefault.jpg

Hello everyone! I am back with another exciting post and this time it’s an unbox review. Today I will unboxed one of my purchases from the Labor Day Sale at GameStop. I am going to be unboxing the toy figure Mickey Mouse from Vinimate in his Birth by Sleep version. Birth by Sleep is the prequel story of Kingdom Hearts and this Mickey is when he was still trainning to be a master of the Keyblade.

This figure is only exclusive at GameStop (it’s like one of those exclusive figures you buy from retails when shopping for Pop Funko). These figures are not associated with the Pop figures based on the box and the design of the characters doesn’t have the “bobble-head” or “doll-like” appearance. They are small like Pop but they have “marshmallow-shaped” head and “Lego” hands. It feel rough so I wouldn’t recommend throwing the toys at anyone. The box mentions a site called Diamond Select Toys and it takes you to a site where you can find more Vinimates. The back of the box shows other figures like Sora, Donald, Goofy and King Mickey (in red outfit from KH2).

What do you think about these toys? Comment down below on your thoughts. Do you have any as well?

Disney streaming service name announced! Important news for Star Wars and Marvel fans!

Looks like DC Universe and other sites have met a new match in the business world of streaming. Announced yesterday, Disney has unveiled the new upcoming streaming subscription service. The streaming service will be called Disney Play according to what the news appears and the streaming service will begin on 2019. According to IGN, once the Marvel movie Captain Marvel is released in theaters, every Marvel film will be removed from Netflix will be on Disney Play. In regards to MCU movie on Netflix, the last MCU movie that will be on Netflix will be Ant-Man and the Wasp. Disney and Marvel agreed that Netflix exclusives shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones will remain on Netflix and will not be on Disney Play. However, It’s also reported that Star Wars movies and shows that debuts in 2019 and beyond will appear on the service and the movies like The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi will not be on it due to Star Wars belonging to At&T Turner Broadcasting and giving them the rights to broadcast the films. Disney Play will be premiering instead the upcoming Star Wars Clone Wars season 7. It’s unknown what will be the price for the subscription, but if every Disney licensed title and franchise are being removed from Netflix, then that means they will be losing an estimated $300 million in annual revenue.

Friday Funny 174: Birthday for a Disney Queen

TGIF!

Happy Birthday to Allie

TGIF! Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back my friends to the magical day of the week. I am not Walt Disney, but I want to invite everyone for coming here and enjoying this Friday. I don’t have magic, but I do have the power of memes to help bring laughter. I may not be able to par with Robin Williams, but I am similar to him. I am someone who can laugh and make people smile, but even to someone silly like me can also cry. Besides me, today is a special day because I tribute this day to someone very special. The only news for today is that today is a birthday tribute. Today is August 17th and it’s my friend Allison Turman’s birthday. She is the owner of her blog Visionaries and she writes her fanfiction on Loonatics Unleashed. Who is Allie you may be asking? Allie is a college friend I know that I met in my last year of College. 2016 was my last year of college and I met her in a English Class. We actually been in the same class for a while, but I was too shy to talk to her. However, I mustered up the courage and introduced myself to her. I told her that I love anime and I also love cartoons. I can remember the Disney classics and the lyrics. I grew up with classic anime like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! and I seen shows she also seen. I told her that and this led to a beautiful friendship. I also got her into watching Sword Art Online and she loved it; she got me into Loonatics Unleashed. We seen the movies Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale and Yu-Gi-Oh! the Movie. She favors Sailor Moon and I favored Dragon Ball. We have our moments in our chats where we can laugh and smile at the simple things, but we do have moments that we just want to vent out and let go of negative emotions. For her birthday, I got her two plushie dolls of Kirito and Asuna for her Yui doll. Last year, I got her Yui and this year, I felt like Yui needed her parents so I bought them and gave it to her. Allison is a great and kind person who I admire. She is an excellent writer who can create vivid imaginations and place it on paper. She can remember any moment from Disney movies and even remember epic Yu-Gi-Oh! moments from the anime. What else can I say about her? There’s a lot I could say to the point I could write a book. Allison is a beautiful friend and I am blessed and thankful to God that I have an amazing friend whom I can trust on. I told her before that if there was a place where she can be a greater self than this reality, she would definitely go there and I would see her as queen of the world. I would want to serve her world as a knight. I would fight for happiness and defend against anything negative. Happy Birthday Allison!

Sorry for being off-topic, let’s begin!

To conclude this episode, here are some videos and each one will be divided into sections. The first section is to remind everyone that the movie Avengers: Infinity War is out on DVD and digital.

Next section is to remind JoJo fans that Toonami will be releasing the English Dub of JoJo Part 4 on TV!

Last but never least, here are some songs Allie will love.

That’s all folks! God bless you all!

Happy Birthday Allison 🙂

Spider-Man: Homecoming movie review (Spoilers!)

Kingdom Hearts III Premiere!

https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/143/590x/Kingdom-Hearts-3-release-date-961523.jpg

To those who are under a rock, I got some excited news to share and it’s good news about Kingdom Hearts III. Since we are a couple of weeks away for E3, Square Enix hosted a special event where players can try out a demo of Kingdom Hearts III. Some of these players are fans such as anime English Voice actress Erika Harlacher got to experience Kingdom Hearts III. As of now, the news I found is just tidbits. Square Enix has not uploaded a trailer or anything on the Kingdom Hearts website. The stuff I found is from Twitter, IGN and GameSpot.

According to gameplays and screenshots, we got another Disney character joining Sora’s adventure, Video game character Wreck-It Ralph will be in Kingdom Hearts III and helping Sora; however, Ralph will be a summon character where Sora can call him and use him to fight.

Also revealed in the game is Sora’s new Keyblade abilities and fight style. Based on the pictures and videos, Sora can use different fight depending on what he uses. For example, using the keyblade based on Monster’s Inc. will allow Sora to transform his weapon into yo-yos and either use laser attacks or trap his enemies.

Shown in another gameplay, Sora can also use his environment for combat such as running on the walls similar to flowmation. Sora’s other attacks involves him using Disneyland’s live attraction rides as attacks which can help him fight bosses and enemies.

As a funny Easter Egg and tribute to Final Fantasy, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT makes a surprise visit in the world of Toy Story. Even the character Rex makes a comment about playing video games and referring back to Final Fantasy.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know the release date, but according to game director Nomura, he mentioned that the announcement of the release date should be coming probably in next month. My guess is that we will find out at E3 2018.

What do you think about this game? Kingdom Hearts III is coming out this year for PS4 and Xbox One.

MCU news: Possible Ms. Marvel appearance after Captain Marvel? Goodbye Inhumans and hello season 6 of Agents of Shield!

Marvel has some good and bad news today!

Ms. Marvel

According to an article from IGN, MCU/Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that he has plans of introducing the super heroine Ms. Marvel. Her appearance will most likely appear after they release the 2019 movie Captain Marvel. If you don’t know who is Ms. Marvel, Ms. Marvel is a superhero character that first appeared in Captain Marvel #14 (August 2013) and she debuted in her own issue February 2014. Her identity is Kamala Khan and she is a Pakistan American citizen. She is Marvel’s first Muslim super hero and her comic has spread positive widespread. Her powers allows her to extend and morph her limbs.

Inhumans

Marvelhttps://i1.wp.com/cdn2us.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeekus/files/styles/main_wide/public/2017/09/inhumans-1.jpg may be able to make some great superhero movies, but the TV shows is something else. Unlike the well received show Agents of Shield, the recent MCU series Inhumans is getting some negative feedback. According to IGN, Channel ABC canceled the series Inhumans. With only eight episodes in total, the channel is pulling the plug.

Speaking of Agents of Shield, ABC will renew the series for the 6th season. The new season will have 13 episodes and it is hinted that it will reference the recent Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War. It’s unknown when will it begin.
