*UPDATE: 8/20/19* Spider-Man movie news: FFH returns to theaters! Spider-Man no longer in MCU?

I don’t work for the Daily Bugle, but if I was, I would be filling your timeline or feed about Spider-Man 24/7. I got some Spider-Man news for you and it’s about the movies. I will give you the good news first and then some bad news! I am not J. Jonah Jameson, but I am here to give you the spider scoop!

Following the same strategy as Avengers: Endgame, Marvel and Sony are bringing back Spider-Man: Far From Home into theaters again. The movie will be in theaters in August 29th and it will include scenes and moments that was not present in the first running in theaters. Be careful if you plan to see this movie, this movie takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame, there will be spoilers!

Here is some bad news for the fate of this young hero. There might not be anymore Spider-Man MCU movies in the future. According the sources from IGN and Deadline, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that there won’t be any plans for more Spider-Man movies because of the financial dispute with Sony and Disney. Based on what Deadline is describing, Sony wants more money as opposed to what Disney intended to do which was a 50/50 deal. Since Sony refuses to do this, MCU are willing to let Sony take back Spider-Man. There are rumors that there are two planned Spider-Man movies, but it will most likely not have MCU involved. In results, Kevin Feige will unlikely be the creative lead writer to any Spider-Man movies.

UPDATE: 8/20/19 There could be one chance of hope!

Earlier today, it was announced that the plans with Sony and Disney have been dismissed and Spider-Man wasn’t going to be present in the MCU world. However, there could be hope. According to sources, it is possible for “a deal might still be reached between Disney and Sony.” There could be hope in this news.

Friday Funny 222: The Circle of Life

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome lion lovers for a glorious Friday Funny episode. I want to say this is the most exciting post I been wanting to do for a long time. Today is the movie premiere of the live action Disney movie The Lion King. This 1994 classic movie is one of Disney’s greatest animated movies and it’s a fan favorite for classic fans and new fans. Here we are in 2019 and this legendary movie is back in live action. With the creative team who made the live action movie The Jungle Book, The Lion King will re-relieve the epic moments of young Simba learning how to become the true king after witnessing a tragedy and he must reclaim his kingdom from his evil uncle, Scar. The Lion King is my favorite Disney movie and ever since I was a kid, I grew fond of the characters, story telling and the music. While some kids of today like to listen to Frozen songs, I prefer the Lion King songs. If you saved enough money after spending on Prime Day, you should check out the movie and see if it lives up to everyone expectations. In Prime Day, I just bought the Batman: The Animated Series Blu-Ray/Digital collection. It’s worth the money since you are paying a lot to have the Blu-Ray discs and the digital copies of all the Batman episodes and the two movies: The Mask of Phantasm and Sub-Zero.

If you still want to buy something, today is the official release of the Nintendo Switch game Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: Black Order. In this game, you can create your own personal Marvel character team and take on enemies such as Thanos, Kingpin, Ultron and many more. This game will be done by Team Ninja and this game will give players the opportunity to create an epic team with members from the X-Men, Avengers, Defenders and even Fantastic Four. Last but not least, if you want anime, you have two options. Rightstuf is selling anime and manga with discount prices as a way to celebrate the 32 years of selling anime. The second option is you can buy anime from Sentai Filmworks. They are slashing prices and if you are fortunate, you can even snag some premium editions of anime where you can get DVD/Blu-Ray combos and even exclusive merchandise. Unfortunately, the sale will be ending on 7/21.

Disney XD series Spider-Man plans comeback with new arc!

See the source image

Does anyone remember this cartoon series Marvel Spider-Man? This cartoon appeared in 2017 and it supposed to be a replacement to the finished series Ultimate Spider-Man. It may not be like Ultimate Spider-Man and Spectacular Spider-Man, but it’s Spider-Man! The series is currently on season 2, but the series went on a hiatus that started on August 2018. However, according to Spider-Man voice actor Robbie Daymond, the series is planning to come back and the news site Newsrama states that the series will also be entering new story arcs such as the Superior Spider-Man and the newly introduced Goblin War.

According to VP of Animation and Family Entertainment, Cort Lane made a comment in a interview with Newsrama that with no surprise, the series will continue into the Superior Spider-Man story, but then also it will have Peter Parker come across the story arc known as the Goblin War. They wanted to split these stories into sections these seasons. So far, there is no release date for the return of Marvel Spider-Man.

If you don’t know what is the Superior Spider-Man story, according to the interview, Cort Lane tells that the story is based on a Spider-Man comic book arc where Spider-Man’s enemy Dr. Otto Octavius steals Spider-Man’s body by transferring his mind into Peter’s body and accessing his memories. Peter’s mind is swapped into Otto’s dying body in result. Now that Otto has Peter’s body, he knows about his identity and decides to prove himself that he can be a better Spider-Man by using the powers of Spider-Man combined with justice and his intelligence.

Cort states that the upcoming story and Goblin War arc won’t have the dark elements from the comic books, but it will have some emotional moments where a sacrifice will be made. In the cartoon version, Otto, inside the Living Brain robot, successfully steals Peter’s body and puts Peter’s mind and soul in the destroyed Living Brain robot. This is where the series took the hiatus and this is where Cort focused on other Marvel cartoons like Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel Rising.

Disney streaming service Disney+ will begin in November

Like already mentioned in the title above, Disney announced that their upcoming streaming service Disney+ will begin on November 12th. So if you are a Disney fan who loves Disney movies like cartoon classics, live action, Marvel or Star Wars, you can finally stream your favorite shows and movies in this service. According to the official site, Disney+ will have a monthly price of $6.99. Like other services such as Netflix and Hulu, the service will be available for mobile and TV devices. You will be able to watch shows/movies such as from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.

According to the site, members will have access to exclusive TV shows such as live action series on the Marvel characters like Loki, Bucky and Falcon and even What if stories focusing on Marvel characters. Fox will also be allowing the cartoon series The Simpsons in Disney+. Star Wars is planning on a live action series called the Mandalorian and a new season of Star Wars: Clone Wars.

How do you feel about this news? I mentioned this a while back that once Disney starts this streaming service, this means Disney will also remove Disney content from Netflix in this year. This means that Marvel movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther will no longer be in Netflix and Star Wars movies and TV shows will be gone.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 movie will use Gunn’s script

Good news for Guardians of the Galaxy fans! According to IGN, the “halted” movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will indeed be using James Gunn’s script. In a interview with Star Lord actor Chris Pratt with MTV, Pratt commented that they plan to do the movie according to James Gunn. He also mentioned that he still cares about him and he believes it’s important for the team to stick together like the Guardians and get the job done.

However, it’s still unknown to who will direct the movie.

If you don’t know why Disney fired James Gunn, Disney found James Gun’s tweets and deemed them inappropriate due to not being civil and polite. In results, Disney fired James Gunn and this caused the movie to be put on pause on production. James Gunn is currently working with Warner Bros and plans to do a Suicide Squad movie in 2021.
