See the source image

Howdy Dragon Balls! I hope you haven’t stopped playing the fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ because the company Bandai Namco and Arc System Works are giving us more fun in this game. Announced today, Bandai Namco announced that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be receiving a third season pass.

Kefla will be the first DLC character to come out and she will be available for download on February 28th. Ultra Instinct Goku will be released in Spring 2020.

My Dragon Ball game experience from 2002-2019

If you know me, you know that I love watching anime and I also like spend time with video games. As an anime fan, I grew up to the anime Dragon Ball Z and as a kid, I did both by playing the games, collecting the toys and watching the anime. Dragon Ball is an iconic anime/manga series that revolutionized many Shonen Jump titles and it helped gave birth to other titles like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach and My Hero Academia. Most of us grew up watching classic anime like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, YuYu Hakusho on Toonami after school and that’s why you still see adults who are still showing support for these titles. Back in the day and even still today, Dragon Ball is one of the series that is still making video games. From the Budokai series to the Xenoverse and now to the upcoming Kakarot game, Dragon Ball  is still alive and kicking on consoles and PC. Doesn’t matter how many times Naruto releases the Ultimate Ninja Storm and Clash of Ninja games or other companies tries to new titles like My Hero Academia and Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball is one of the popular series that knows how to sell in the video game world. In a video I watched from a YouTuber named DevilArtmis, he goes over a quick review on all the Dragon Ball games he played up to 2019.

I may have not played every Dragon Ball game but I do want to share the games I played from 2002 during the era when the Game Boy Advance and GameCube was the highlight of gaming. I am going to briefly discuss these titles by systems.

I wish for more characters! – Top DB characters I want to see in DBFZ

See the source image

If you been playing Dragon Ball FighterZ, you probably are aware of the character roster in the game. Bandai Namco recently released two season passes with DLC characters. As 2019 is ending, Season Pass 2 will be releasing the final DLC in the package and it’s Broly from the anime film Dragon Ball Super: Broly. So far, there is no news for a season pass 3 for this game, but than likely, fans are going to request more characters. This game may not have an expansive roster like Xenoverse 2, but this game has some notable characters with incredible combos and fun, destructive powers. Thanks to Bandai Namco teaming up with Arc System Works, fans can fully relieve and reenact moments from the anime, movies and manga. Next year, Bandai Namco will be releasing Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and more than likely, they’ll still be releasing DLC in Dragon Ball games like Xenoverse 2. If there is a possibility of another season pass, it would be nice to see more characters from the series. In this list, I am going to be listing my top characters I want to see in Dragon Ball FighterZ. I am going to pick three characters from all Dragon Ball anime (Dragon Ball classic, DBZ, DBGT and Super).

1. Dragon Ball

  • Kid Goku

See the source image

  • Demon King Piccolo

See the source image

  • Mercenary Tao

See the source image

I wanted to mention the original, classic Dragon Ball since I feel like this anime doesn’t get a lot anymore compared to DBZ and DBS. I wanted to pick Kid Goku since I did like playing as him from his GT version. Instead of him relying on his Super Saiyan 4 form and Spirit Bomb, I think it would be cool to see Goku use his Power Pole and Nimbus cloud to fight. With characters like Tao and King Piccolo, it would be cool to see the game re-create epic dramatic finishes for Goku. I would think that King Piccolo would fight like a combination of regular Piccolo and Nappa. King Piccolo in the series can summon minions like Tambourine and Drum and it would cool to see him use these characters in combat like Nappa or Ginyu. For Tao, I think he would play as Tien but he would use sneaky attacks and counters on the opponent and annoy them.

2. Dragon Ball Z

  • Dabura

See the source image

  • Super Buu

See the source image

  • Raditz

See the source image

It’s weird for me to say this, but I think adding Raditz would be interesting. We have Saiyan Saga Vegeta, Bardock and Nappa in the game and both are fun. It would be nice to add Raditz with the Saiyans and see his interactions with the characters; if Yamcha can join the game, Raditz deserves a chance. I would like to see a Dramatic Finish with Raditz in two possible outcomes like Yamcha: one where he gets killed by Piccolo and Goku like the series and the other where he escapes and kills both of them like the Xenoverse games. I pick Super Buu because the game didn’t add him but they did include Majin Buu and Kid Buu. If Super Buu was in this game, it would be cool to see the player use different special attacks based on the characters he absorbed such as Gohan’s Kamehame Ha and Gotenks Kamikaze ghost attacks along with his genocide blast. Dabura would be another character that deserves the spotlight. I would think if Dabura was in this game, he would use his spit to stun his opponents or just magically appear in front of the opponent and blast them.

3. Dragon Ball GT

  • Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta

See the source image

  • Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta

See the source image

  • Omega Shenron

See the source image

Who would thought Dragon Ball GT would join this game. If GT Goku could join, why not Vegeta. Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta would be an awesome addition to the roster. Fans could use Vegeta’s Final Shine attack and make comments about his SS4 form. Just like the fusion characters, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is a must have. Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta would probably play as SSB Gogeta but with different move sets such as the 100x Big Bang Kamehame Ha or a defensive aura (like Ultimate Gohan) and push the enemy back. Omega Shenron would be another powerhouse character that would be a great challenge for players. With the powers of the Dragon Balls, Shenron will be unleash some devastating attacks combos to put pressure on the opponent.

4. Dragon Ball Super

  • Kefla

See the source image

  • Ultra Instinct Goku

See the source image

  • Super Saiyan Blue Evolved Vegeta

See the source image

We have fusion characters like Gotenks, Vegito and Gogeta but we don’t have Kefla. If you have Xenoverse 2, Kefla could be downloaded and played. It would be awesome to play as this powerful Saiyan woman and unleash killer ki attacks. If Ultra Instinct Goku was in this game, I would like to see a dramatic finish where Goku defeats her with a KameHame Ha. In the manga, Gohan fights her and the these two are equally matched. UI Goku would be fun character to play as since he is much stronger and faster than his Super Saiyan Blue form. I would imagine him being like Frieza or Super Broly where you can manually transform into Mastered/Autonomous Ultra Instinct Goku; if the player reaches level 3 or higher, the player can transform Frieza into Golden Frieza. Similar to his regular Blue Form, SSB Evolved Vegeta would be another great addition. Originally, I was going to ask for Majin Vegeta in my DBZ category, but then I remembered SSB Evolved Vegeta has the similar ultimate which is the Final Explosion which was used against Majin Buu in the Buu Saga. SSB Evolved Vegeta would be faster and stronger than the standard Blue Form but with his ultimate attack, he would suffer damage.

5. Bonus

  • Master Roshi

See the source image

I couldn’t decide to put Roshi in either the Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Super category, so I gave him his own special spot. Master Roshi is really tough old man that can handle his own. I would love to be able to transform into his max power form and use his KameHame Ha attack. His ultimate attack would be the Evil Containment Wave. His play style would probably be a mix of normal Goku and Krillin with incredible Kii attacks.

This is my wishlist for more characters in Dragon Ball FighterZ. Who do you want to see in the game? Comment down below on your most wanted characters.

Thanksgiving is an important holiday for us Americans. Not only we carve the turkey and share food with a friends and family, we reflect what are we thankful for in life. After Thanksgiving, it’s the start of the Christmas season. Black Friday and Cyber Monday become the big hitters for Thanksgiving for shoppers who wants to buy gifts for others and buy something sweet for themselves. If you are going to stay home and watch TV on Black Friday or you want to do something fun, we have the Macy Thanksgiving Parade. Last year, Funimation and Toei Animation teamed up together to create a Super Saiyan Blue Goku float for the Macy Thanksgiving Parade. Goku got to experience a parade with other iconic characters such as Pikachu, Spider-Man and even SpongeBob. It’s been announced that Goku is coming back again for this year.

Dragon Ball FighterZ reveals Broly (Super) gameplay trailer

See the source image

If you think there’s too much of Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball FighterZ, maybe a Broly character will take your mind off these characters. Bandai Namco released a gameplay trailer of Dragon Ball Super version of Broly. This Broly is from the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly and it was created by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama. DBS Broly is the last DLC character for the second season pass. There is no release date yet. What do you think about this version of Broly?

Happy 30th Anniversary Dragon Ball Z – My top 5 characters I wish to see canon in Dragon Ball

See the source image

Remember the news that Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama was involve with making the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly? Because of his involvement, fans rejoiced and saw that after all these years, the antagonist Broly was going to be canon and be part of the Dragon Ball universe. Not only him, but we also get see characters like Bardock, Gogeta and even Goku’s mother Gine as canon; Gine first made her appearance in the manga Jaco: The Galactic Patrolman manga in a special chapter called Dragon Ball Minus. This is could be good or bad news since this means that Toriyama retconned the story. Meaning, we don’t see Bardock’s old friends from the movie Bardock: The Father of Goku or we don’t see his Super Saiyan transformation Episode of Bardock. Regardless of the changes, fans was still happy to see these characters canon and part of the main story. Just like I mentioned before with Bardock, this also means that Toriyama changed Broly. In the DBZ movies, Toriyama did designed Broly but he wasn’t part of the past movies and Broly was just another noncanon villain in the DBZ movies like Cooler or Lord Slug. Broly made more appearances in three movies due to popularity and seeing him come back as canon, he is involved with the main story. Now here is the main topic of this post: What if Toriyama said today that he wanted to do another Dragon Ball movie and bring back and character that was originally noncanon? What if Dragon Ball Super comes back and he wants to reintroduce a character he designed and be in the Dragon Ball Super? I have five characters in my mind that I would love to see return. These characters are from the past DBZ movies and filler arcs of Z. This is also a tribute to the 30 years of the Dragon Ball Z anime! Happy Anniversary Dragon Ball Z and thank you for the characters and story!

*Warning: Spoilers!

5. Pikkon (Dragon Ball Z)

See the source image

Remember that epic fight with Goku and Hit in Dragon Ball Super where Goku used Kaioken and Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan together? Before that happened, Dragon Ball veterans saw something similar in the classic Dragon Ball Z anime. In Dragon Ball Z, this anime did have filler that was not part of the original manga. Taking place after the events of the Cell Games, Goku is dead and rather than training with King Kai, he decides to part in tournament where all the Kais come together and pit their strongest warriors and see who is the strongest, in thus this leads to the Other World Tournament episodes.  In this filler, Goku and Pikkon are faced against each other and both are equally matched. Despite Pikkon being stronger than Frieza and even Cell, Goku has an ace up his sleeve. He transform into Super Saiyan and mixed his attacks with Kaioken for a boost.

What I am trying to say is that even though Pikkon is not noncanon, I did like him and I really like the friendship with him and Goku. I am also impressed how strong he is. It was mentioned in Bio Broly that when Broly died, King Kai wanted Goku and Pikkon stop Broly rampaging in the Other World. If Pikkon ever comes back, I would love to see him Super where Goku could team up with Goku and fight with dead warriors for training.

4. Tapion (Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragons)

See the source image

He didn’t show up in the filler episodes but he appeared in the noncanon Z movies. Tapion is a new character introduced in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon,. He is a mysterious hero who is on a quest to prevent the powerful monster Hirudegarn from destroying the world. I pick him because I like friendship between Kid Trunks and him. In the movie, Trunks becomes interested in him and sees that looks like a very cool hero and Tapion soon begins to like him since he reminds him of his younger brother who helped prevented the rampaging monster from rampage years ago. In the end of the movie, the monster slain and as Tapion returns him home, he gives powerful sword to Trunks. In the credits, we see Trunks wielding a sword and slaying Frieza after the events in Namek. I would love to see Toriyama bring back Trunks again and go over the details on how did he get the sword. I could possible see him referred or at least explained in a movie focusing only on Trunks.

3. Bojack (Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound)

See the source image

Remember this muscled green giant? Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound introduced Bojack and his minions and we got see how scary they are. It is mentioned by King Kai that all four Kais sealed Bojack and his servants because they were evil and they had too power to be stopped in the galaxy; however, after King Kai died from Cell because of Goku, the seal is broken Bojack and his crew escapes and decides to have fun by attacking Earth. With Goku out of the picture, it’s up to Gohan and the Z-Warriors to stop him. If Bojack ever comes back, I would love to see him in the sequel/Dragon Ball Super anime. In the manga, DBS is still going and Goku and Vegeta are faced against a powerful energy stealing foe called Moro and the only one who can match against him is Majin Buu. What if while Goku and Vegeta are away, what if there is new threat and Gohan is Earth’s last resort. It was mentioned a while back that Toriyama planned to have Gohan to be the main protagonist in Dragon Ball Z when it first started, but then he became a side character since fans loved Goku more than Gohan. I would love to see Gohan in action and show fans that he still the same kid who once saved the world from Cell. He did come back strong in Dragon Ball Super in the last arc, but I would like to see him fight in a battle of life and death in the same way in Android Saga.

2. Slug (Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug)

See the source image

Goku can’t catch a break with evil Namekians. In Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug, Goku and his friends must stop the evil Namekian Lord Slug from freezing the planet. In a similar way like Evil King Piccolo in the Dragon Ball classic anime, Goku is faced against a young Lord Slug in his prime and just like King Piccolo, he is evil to the core and will do what it takes to kill anyone stopping his goals. Goku barely made it out alive when he almost tapped into a Super Saiyan form and Gohan using his whistling skills to weaken Slug. Just like my point with Gohan and Bojack, what if the earth needed Piccolo’s protection. I could see an arc in Dragon Ball Super where Piccolo teams up with Gohan and fight against Slug. Not only Piccolo would get the spotlight, but I would love to see the teacher-student relationship with Gohan and Piccolo.

1. Cooler (Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge)

See the source image

Just like Broly, Cooler is another movie character that gets a lot of popularity from Dragon Ball Z fans. Cooler made his appearance in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge and then came back again as a metal version called Metal Cooler in Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler. Cooler is the older brother of Frieza and just like him, he is heartless. He comes to Earth to find the one who killed his brother and he is not doing this to avenge him, he wants to kill to honor the family and his own pride. It’s mentioned in the movie that he was already planning to kill Frieza to shut him up. Cooler will go beyond and even try to kill Goku’s friends in order to see him go mad. Cooler has gotten a lot attention even in the video games that he was added in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 in the PS2 and he came back in the Dragon Ball Heroes anime spinoff where he learned how to transform into Golden Cooler. He is also a DLC character in FighterZ along with Broly and Bardock. In Dragon Ball Super, he doesn’t show up at all and the only Frieza-like character we got was Frost in Universe 6. I would love to see story focusing on Frieza and his race. We could learn about his relationship with his brother and his father King Cold.

That’s my top 5 characters I want to see canon in Toriyama’s movies and Dragon Ball Super. What about you guys? Do you have any characters that you want to be canon? Comment down below.

(*Update 3/27/19*) Kameha Con drama: Vic is in, DB staff is out?!

UPDATE 3/27/19

Besides Vic Migogna and Tiffany Vollmer attenting Kameha Con, it’s been announced that more classic Dragon Ball voice actors will be attending this upcoming April. It’s been announced that Elise Baughman (voice of Pan from Dragon Ball GT), Rick Robertson (voice of Dabura), Chuck Huber (voice of Android 17, Garlic Jr., Emperor Pilaf), Laura Steele (Young Krillin in Dragon Ball) and Stephanie Nadolny (Gohan and kid Goku in the classic Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball and GT) will be attending this convention. Chuck Huber will only appear on Friday, April 12th.

This is an intense battle between Dragon Ball fans and voice actors for this upcoming Kameha Con. Kameha Con is an unofficial convention dedicated to Dragon Ball fans. Not only fans of the series meet up and express their interests in the series, but voice actors for the series such as actors like Chris Sabat participates and meets the fans. However the news I am about to present may either influence you to visit or not and cancel plans. Beyond this post, I am not going to share my opinions. It will be objective.

It’s been announced that the veteran voice actor Vic Migogna, who voiced Dragon Ball characters Broly and Burter (in Dragon Ball Z Kai version), was re-invited to Kameha Con. As most anime fans know, Vic Migogna has been accused for sexual harassment and assault according to his fans. Based on reports from voices of the fans, he gave unwanted hugs and kisses. However, according to other fans that defend him, these reports are likely false because of lack of evidence and reports. Regardless, despite whether they are true or false, Vic has been fired from Rooster Teeth and will not be voicing Qrow from RWBY. He also been fired from Funimation as well. Vic has been removed by a majority of upcoming conventions However, some cons like Kamehame Con and HawaiCon are giving Vic a chance and some believe he’s innocent.

For Vic fans or I Stand With Vic fans, this is good news and they are happy to see Vic getting respect and seeing how some people defend and believe he’s innocent. However, this also brings in bad news for the ones who oppose this. The Kick Vic fans, people who believe Vic is guilty, disapprove this idea because not only they don’t like Vic, but this also leads to cancelled plans for the voice actors. It’s been confirmed that voice actors Monica Rial (voice of Bulma from Dragon Ball Super and Z Kai), Daman Mills (voice of Frieza and Monoka in Dragon Ball Super. He voiced Frieza temporary because Chris Ayres was ill), Josh Grelle (voice of Grand Minister) and Jason Douglass (the voice of Beerus) cancelled their plans.

However, there is one guest that is making an appearance and classic fans will always remember her as Bulma.  Tiffany Vollmer will be joining Kameha Con with VIc Migogna. Tiffany voiced Bulma in the classic anime of Dragon Ball, DBZ, and Dragon Ball GT.

Kameha Con will be on April 12th-14th.
