A FFXV and Shadow of the Tomb Raider collab?

It looks like I forgot to mention this yesterday, but apparently we’re getting more content for FFXV.

According to IGN, PAX East 2018 not only revealed more story dlc for Final Fantasy XV, but a collaboration is comng. Square Enix revealed that a Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy XV collaboration will be happening. It’s unknown what’s the details, but get ready for content for Noctis and his friends or even Lara Croft with Final Fantasy elements. This is not the first time a collaboration happened. Last year, Final Fantasy XV paired up with Assassin’s Creed: Origins and FFXV held a special event in the game where players could dress Noctis and his friends as Assassins and even obtain a Medjay shield weapon. In Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Square repaid them by giving gamers a Chocobo and Noctis’s Engine Blade. There was also Easter eggs in the game where players could find Umbra, Ardyn and Bahamut.

Recently, Square Enix has worked with the PC and gave fans DLC costumes such as Half-Life and Sims.

PAX East Final Fantasy XV news: More content for 2018 and 2019

If you were at PAX East, you might have attended the panel and listening on the news regarding to Final Fantasy XV. I didn’t go, but I found some tasty news!

Comrades standalone

Square Enix announced that the multiplayer expansion “Comrades” will be stand-alone. Meaning, you don’t need to buy Final Fantasy XV or have the game installed on the system. If you want to play online, you can get this game instead. Meanwhile, they will also be adding new features like raid battles. This stand-alone version will be out this summer.

Originally, the expansion is needed with a copy of FFXV in order to play.

New Episodes and Alternate Story?

It looks like Final Fantasy XV will be alive for 2018 as well. According to an outline at PAX East, Square Enix will be releasing 4 more Episode stories each involving Noctis, Lunafreya, Aranea and Ardyn. This new collection of Episodes will be called The Dawn of the Future. A new theme for the Episodes will be composed by Yoko Shimomura. According to Square Enix, these stories will portray a “alternate grand finale”. Meaning, these stories will have endings that could have happened and be different than the ending that was already presented in the main game. (If you already played and beat FFXV, you already know what I am talking about). These stories will be released in 2019.

Here is what is known:

As a fan of Final Fantasy XV, I am going to save up and play more!

Friday Funny 150: A Royal Friday

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to another exciting Friday. It’s time to say goodbye to February and say hello to March, my favorite month of the year besides December. A lot of things are happening in this month such as new movies for this month. We have movies like Tomb Raider which is based on the young Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider games and then we also have the upcoming Sci-Fi nerd experience movie coming out called Ready Player One. In this TGIF post, I want to dedicate this Friday to my favorite video game Final Fantasy XV. The reason why is because on March 6th, get ready to experience Final Fantasy XV in new and different ways, especially if you are new to the series. On March 6th, if you are PC owner, get ready to play Final Fantasy XV on the PC. Whether you have Steam, Windows, Origins or download it from the Square Enix store, players who are interested in this game will be able to experience Final Fantasy XV in an exciting way. According to Square Enix, FFXV on the PC will have an enhanced graphics and players will have access to content previously released such as the Episode DLC, Online Multiplayer, the alternate chapter 13, and the Royal Edition content (I will explain soon). Depending on where you pre-purchase, you can get exclusive DLC costumes for Noctis or your custom character. On Steam pre-purchase, you can cosplay as Gordon Freeman from the Half-Life series. On Origins, you can dress up as with the Sims 4 Pack. Also, you can mod the game and have silly things like change the NPC as Cactuars!

However, there is more for FFXV fans! If you want to play FFXV on the consoles with the recent updates and DLC, there is a way. Also released on the same day, Square Enix will release Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition. According to the info, this edition will have the FFXV game, the Season Pass DLC like the Episodes and Online, new attacks and items such as the new Armiger Unleahsed and Royal Vessel boat, and new enemies and dungeons in the Ruins of Insomnia (we get to see older Cor and explore more of Insomnia). I believe that in American dollars, this game will cost about $50. However, if you already have the game and don’t want to spend for another copy, the Royal Edition will be a DLC (I think it will be about $20).

Last, but not least, SciFi Japan is holding a contest to anyone who wants to win the anime movie Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rogue and the first volume of Hunter x Hunter. Both are in English and Blu-Ray. Phantom Rogue takes place before Greed Island arc and Gon and Killua must find out who stole their friend Kurapika’s eyes. According to Kurapika, the thief has a spider mark and it’s possible that this thief is from his clan.

Anyway, let’s kick start this Friday!

Here is what to expect from the Royal Edition and updates to Online. The Royal Edition will also be included in the PC.

PC owners:

To end the series, I will share some anime songs. I heard about the anime awards and that some awards were given to My Hero Academia. I haven’t seen season 2, but I am happy to hear this anime get popularity. I didn’t care much about Yuri on Ice and how it won last years. However, instead of focusing on MHA and since Netflix released the live-action movie Fullmetal Alchemist, here are some songs from the anime! I totally recommend watching Fullmetal Alchemist, classic and Brotherhood. Brotherhood is actually better because it follows the manga and has a satisfying ending. In both series, it has a great English Dub cast, animation is perfect, unique storyline and amazing songs.

See you next Friday!

FFXV news: Pre-order bonus for Steam users

We are near the end of February and as we approach March, Square Enix are giving players more surprises for those who are eager to play FFXV.

To those who don’t know, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is coming to PC on March 6th; Windows, Origin and Steam users will be able to experience Final Fantasy XV on their PC in beautiful graphics, fun mods and experience the season pass and Royal Edition.

For an added bonus for steam users, players who pre-purchase Final Fantasy XV before May 1st will receive a Half-Life DLC pack.

According to Twitter, players will be able to dress Noctis as Gordon Freeman from the Half-Life series for the single player story. Also, in Multiplayer Comrades, players will obtain costume pieces to dress up your character as Gordon Freeman.

I never played the Half Life series, but I hear this game is popular for Steam users. Unfortunately, just like Kingdom Hearts III, the third game is stuck on hiatus.

Final Fantasy XV DLC Review: Episode Ignis

Site Synopsis:

An original episode told from the perspective of Ignis. With Altissia in ruins after the Trial of Leviathan, Ignis faces the Niflheim Empire to protect Noctis at all costs. Joining him along the way is Ravus, high commander of the Niflheim Empire, who is determined to rescue his sister Lunafreya.

Featuring fast-paced battles and multiple endings, it is finally time to learn about the untold events that transpired during one of the most dramatic moments in FINAL FANTASY XV.

(May contain spoilers if you have went past Chapter 9 with the fight with Leviathan. Overall, I won’t spoil the game’s story)

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition news confirmed and PC updates!

You may already know this but I am a huge fan of Final Fantasy XV. Final Fantasy is my all time favorite video game besides Kingdom Hearts and Sonic the Hedgehog. You might be wondering, “Matt, you always talk about this game and I want to try this but I hear there’s DLC, what should I do?”

I got some exciting news for newcomers and returning fans. Revealed in Twitter by the official Final Fantasy XV account, Square Enix will be re-releasing Final Fantasy XV with all the recent updates from 2017 DLC and new content. The new version is called Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition. Based on the trailer, this game will be for PS4 and Xbox One. The game will include all the recent DLC episodes (Gladiolus. Prompto, and Ignis) including the Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades; this also includes free updates like the Regalia-D and the ability to change characters in the main game. With an addition, the new version will include a new attack for the Armiger and a an expansion to Insomnia. In the video, playing as the timeskip Noctis, you will be able to explore an all new dungeon in the Ruins of Insomnia and encounter new bosses and view new additional cutscenes in which players will see Cor in his new 10 year skip form!

However, if you already have the game and you don’t want to buy another copy of the game, I got some positive news for you. According to GameSpot, there will be a separate Royal Edition for the PSN and Xbox Store for $20 (this is for the USA and I don’t what’s going to cost at the UK). Buying the physical version of Royal Edition will be $50 or £40 (UK). This new version will have a new cover like above designed by Yoshitaka Amano.

To be honest, I wish this free like how Street Fighter V did it when you already have the game, you can download the free Arcade Edition.

But wait there’s more!

If you want to play Final Fantasy XV but you don’t have a console, but you got a PC, I got some new good news. Already mentioned, Final Fantasy XV will be joining PC. However, also announced on Twitter, the game will also include the recent Royal Edition and all the free past DLCs like the Episodes and Comrades.

According to a Twitter FFXV friend I follow, Maku posted a small graph detailing on the bonus incentives if you preorder Final Fantasy XV PC. Depending where you get the PC game like Windows, Steam or Origins, you will be getting some bonuses.

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition and the PC version will be released at the same day on March 6th, 2018!

Mentioned on Twitter y Playstation LifeStyle and GameSpot, there appears to be news in regards to Final Fantasy XV.

According to GameSpot, ESRB might have left a leak because in the game boards, there is a rating for a game called Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition. Just like most games that is called Game of the Year, this updated edition will have the main Final Fantasy XV game along with DLC episodes (Episode Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis). If this leak is true, people who wants to get into Final Fantasy XV will be happy to know that they can get their hands on this game for all the updates. This game will be for PS4 and Xbox One.

Square Enix also mentioned besides this and the upcoming PC game, 2018 is going to be really big for FFXV. Since I already have the DLC episodes, I will not buy this Royal Edition. So far, this news is only a leak but I believe this game will be real news.
