The movies I seen in spring and summer 2018

https://siriuswrites.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/ca2.gif?w=500

Since we are reaching the end of summer, it’s time to prepare for the last two seasons of 2018: fall and winter. With fall coming in, I had a good time with spring and summer. Spring time for me was good because not only I got a job which gives me good pay and a friendly environment, but this is around the time I started to watch a lot movies in theaters. Summer may have been intense in my job, but it was a good time to sit down and have of a bucket of popcorn and watch a movie with the AC in theaters. 2018 has been a great year to watch some movies and it feels like every year it’s going to be even better. Today I am going to be sharing you the movies I have seen in the spring and summer season. Funny how can I keep track of the movie seasons and not anime seasons.

Marvel Avengers: Infinity War (April 27th)

If you are a Marvel fan, you probably already expected this movie to be a hit even after the first weekend. 10 years of building up to this point, Disney and Marvel did the impossible and made the biggest crossover movie. What started off with the first Avengers movie and now in 2018, we have the Avengers teaming up with Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy and even the high selling hero and movie character Black Panther. This movie also placed the spotlight on the anticipated villain Thanos and demonstrated his monstrous power. I really love this movie and I saw this movie right after day one of my job on May 4th; the original release date before it got moved up.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (May 25th)

Star Wars is very popular in sci-fi genre and it’s dedicated to the fans. Ever since Disney bought Star Wars, Disney has been dishing out everything that has to do with Star Wars. From the video games, TV series, comics, Disney will do anything make money of Star Wars. Besides the main story movies like Episodes 7 and 8, they also squeeze in spinoff movies such as Rogue One. Their recent spinoff movie focused on the young Han Solo and how he met inconic characters like Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca. This movie was different for sure, but in a way, it was fun to watch. I like seeing Han get sassy and try to outsmart his enemies. However, based on reports and news, this movie sadly fell after opening weekend and people wanted to focus on the Episode movies. In results, Disney decided to take a break of spinoff films and are now working on the last movie Episode 9 until someone else decides to make a new trilogy outside the Skywalker story.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (July 6th)

After going through Infinity War, I wanted to take a break from the pain and have a good laugh. Taking place after Captain America: Civil War, Scott is under arrest and doing whatever it takes to kill boredom. When Hank Prym and Hope gets curious of the Quantaum Realm, they decide to make a goal to visit this tiny world in hopes to finding Hank’s wife who disappeared. Scott decides to help him, but this also attracts a villain who goes by Ghost who can phase through walls with technology. In short, she has some quantum powers and she’s seeking cure for this powers. Scott is going to have to shrink and enlarge himself if he wants to not only help Hank and Hope, but also try not to violate his house arrest. This movie also ties into Infinity War as well. I really enjoyed this movie for the humor. My family enjoyed it and we were able to forget the pain left from Infinity War… for a moment. I can’t wait for Ant-Man to show up in the next Avengers movie.

Incredibles 2 (June 15th)

It took about 14 years and we finally got the long awaited sequel to Pixar’s superhero family movie. Brad Bird returns to create another masterpiece and unites the voices of the heroes in this sequel. Taking place right after the first movie, the movie focuses on Elasticgirl (wife of Mr. Incredible) and shows off the awesome hero skills and prove that the world is ready to accept heroes. While the wife is busy, Bob is a stay home dad who has to take care of the kids and their issues like Violet’s boyfriend problem, Dash’s math questions and discovering Jack-Jack’s powers. This movie was so cool and seeing this really gives me the same vibes when I watched the first movie for the first time. This movie was so good that it came back in theaters in the Labor Day weekend.

Christopher Robin (August 3rd)

This movie was a guilty pleasure and the reason why I watched this movie because of nostalgia. If you are familiar with movie Hook with Robin Williams, you might know the central theme. Disney creates a live-action moving depicting an adult Christopher Robin who has forgotten his childhood friends Pooh and the rest of the gang in 100 Acre Woods. After going through life, Christopher has forgotten to have fun and now focuses only on work and succeeding life. It’s not until Pooh shows up to him and asks for help after losing his friends. I will admit, I did cry  while watching this movie. What got me was that the voice of Pooh was done by none other than Jim Cummings and hearing Pooh care about Christopher for years really hit me. It taught me that no matter how old you get, you should never lose your childhood. I also fell in love with the song used for one of the trailers online. The song is called One Foot played by Walk the Moon.

What kind of movies did see in these past months?

Marvel News: Venom might have possible after credits scene and unrated version

We are less than a couple of weeks away for the upcoming Marvel movie Venom. Unlike the other Marvel movies such as the ones from Disney and Fox, Venom is going to be from Sony and it won’t have the character Spider-Man involved with the story. Revealed on Fandango, the director Ruben Fleischer answers questions about the movie and the character of Venom. In one of the questions asked, Fandango asked for a possible unrated version for the home videos of the movie.

Fandango: Do you think you would do an unrated version of it on home release?

Ruben Fleischer: I wouldn’t rule anything out. We’ll have to see where it lands, I guess, but I wouldn’t rule anything out.

Another question is asked if there is a possible post credits scene after the movie.

Fandango: Should people stay for the credits?

Ruben Fleischer: I think it would be a mistake of any superhero movie not to stay through the credits.

These are some of the questions that I found interesting. If you want to read the questions and answers, you can follow the link or tweet to the website. Venom comes out on October 5th 2018 and the actor playing ad Venom/Eddie Brock Jr. is Tom Hardy. Eminem will be involved and make a song for the movie. This movie is already rated PG-13 and it might get an unrated version in home video release. Venom is an antihero in the Spider-Man comics, but this movie won’t be having anything to do with Spider-Man.

Looks like DC Universe and other sites have met a new match in the business world of streaming. Announced yesterday, Disney has unveiled the new upcoming streaming subscription service. The streaming service will be called Disney Play according to what the news appears and the streaming service will begin on 2019. According to IGN, once the Marvel movie Captain Marvel is released in theaters, every Marvel film will be removed from Netflix will be on Disney Play. In regards to MCU movie on Netflix, the last MCU movie that will be on Netflix will be Ant-Man and the Wasp. Disney and Marvel agreed that Netflix exclusives shows like Daredevil and Jessica Jones will remain on Netflix and will not be on Disney Play. However, It’s also reported that Star Wars movies and shows that debuts in 2019 and beyond will appear on the service and the movies like The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi will not be on it due to Star Wars belonging to At&T Turner Broadcasting and giving them the rights to broadcast the films. Disney Play will be premiering instead the upcoming Star Wars Clone Wars season 7. It’s unknown what will be the price for the subscription, but if every Disney licensed title and franchise are being removed from Netflix, then that means they will be losing an estimated $300 million in annual revenue.

Unboxing VANS x Marvel shoes

I have been meaning to do this last week, but better late than never. I don’t usually shop at Tillys or buy VANS shoes, but when I heard Marvel teamed up with VANS and made customed shoes based off of Marvel comic heroes. I got some shoes on Saturday July 14th from the Tillys website on a flash sale. I got the Spider-Man shoes. The box that came with the shoes was something really amazing because the pictures are based on the actual comic books. I really like how VANS took the time to cover this shoe box with iconic characters from the comic books.

The shoes inside was covered with images of Spider-Man from the early comics, in which I believe it is the Steve Ditko’s design. Steve Ditko is a comic artist who worked with Marvel creator and now CEO Stan Lee; he is well-known for creating the heroes Spider-Man and Dr. Stranger.

The shoes felt really great and I was surprised it didn’t have laces. I don’t usually wear VANS so that’s why this felt new to me. Overall, the shoes was good on my feet and I am really happy to have these shoes and show off my favorite hero. In a funny way, I remember as a kid, I always liked wearing shoes with characters on it and now as an adult, I have shoes with a favorite character. I am so glad to get these shoes in a fair price.

Rurouni Kenshin

Do you recall the news about Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido Arc returning on June 4th? According to recent news, the manga is out of hiatus and returned to the Shonen Jump magazine in Japan; however, this did happen in America. According to Viz, English company in charge of releasing the Weekly Shonen Jump manga and magazine in America, they did not include Rurouni Kenshin Hokkaido Arc and they extended the hiatus. If you were wondering why didn’t Kenshin return in your digital magazine, Viz did not allow the manga to return and extended the hiatus meanwhile in Japan, it is back.

Avengers 4

If did not watch the recent Avengers movie “Avengers: Infinity War”, do not read this part of this news. The following will have spoilers from this point. I will not go into depth, but this will your last warning.

MCU news: Possible Ms. Marvel appearance after Captain Marvel? Goodbye Inhumans and hello season 6 of Agents of Shield!

Marvel has some good and bad news today!

Ms. Marvel

According to an article from IGN, MCU/Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that he has plans of introducing the super heroine Ms. Marvel. Her appearance will most likely appear after they release the 2019 movie Captain Marvel. If you don’t know who is Ms. Marvel, Ms. Marvel is a superhero character that first appeared in Captain Marvel #14 (August 2013) and she debuted in her own issue February 2014. Her identity is Kamala Khan and she is a Pakistan American citizen. She is Marvel’s first Muslim super hero and her comic has spread positive widespread. Her powers allows her to extend and morph her limbs.

Inhumans

Marvelhttps://i1.wp.com/cdn2us.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeekus/files/styles/main_wide/public/2017/09/inhumans-1.jpg may be able to make some great superhero movies, but the TV shows is something else. Unlike the well received show Agents of Shield, the recent MCU series Inhumans is getting some negative feedback. According to IGN, Channel ABC canceled the series Inhumans. With only eight episodes in total, the channel is pulling the plug.

Speaking of Agents of Shield, ABC will renew the series for the 6th season. The new season will have 13 episodes and it is hinted that it will reference the recent Marvel movie Avengers: Infinity War. It’s unknown when will it begin.

Friday Funny 158: The Ultimate Crossover War

There was an idea, Stark knows this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. See if they could work together when we needed them to to fight the battles we never could.

– Nick Fury

TGIF

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome everyone for this Friday post. If you are reading this post right now, this will be the biggest moment in your life because today is the official movie release of the long anticipated superhero film Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. This movie was in development for about 10 years since the first MCU film Iron Man in 2008. From 2008 Iron Man to 2018 Black Panther, this was the longest wait; especially Marvel/Disney had to get rights from companies such as Hulk belonging to Universal and Spider-Man from Sony. Marvel has brought all the superheros together and to face a major threat that holds the fate for humanity and the galaxy. The disbanded Avengers are back together, the young Spider-Man joins this galactic fight, Dr. Strange join forces, the recent king of Wakanda Black Panther must enlist his Wakanda soldiers to help fight the evil aliens and we have the ragtag Guardians of the Galaxy to help. The main villain Thanos is collecting 6 Infinity Stones for his Infinity Gauntlet. In trailers, he has two in his gauntlet. Thanos is not alone his world eradication because he has children team called the Black Order. This will be the greatest crossover ever and this is a fight that will decide the fate of the superheros. If I do see this movie, I will not be spoiling anything about this movie #ThanosDemandsYourSilence . Please respect the viewers and do not ruin this for anyone.

Besides this movie, this is the last Friday for April and as we get close to May, get ready for upcoming events. For the blogging team OWLS, we already have decided the next blog tour and I will be posting my post on May 1st and the medium I choose will not be an anime or cartoon. In the movies playing in theaters we have the upcoming Star Wars story, Solo: A Star Wars Story. This movie will talk about the iconic character Han Solo in his earlier youth and we get to see characters like Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian (he first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back). If Avengers wasn’t enough for you, we have the return of the lewd and rude antihero, Deadpool 2. Ryan Reynolds returns as the Merc with the Mouth and he must create a team and fight against a futuristic cyborg antagonist named Cable (the same actor is also doing Thanos) who is hunting a mutant child.

Enough, these are memes I prepared for you today:

Here are some videos to hype you this weekend.

Here is a recap of past MCU movie trailers:

In time, you will know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right. Yet to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.

Have a nice day!

Friday Funny 157: Ash Friday

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to another episode of Friday Funny! I hope everyone is doing great this week as week continue to go through this wacky weather in Spring. Lately over here, it either feels like Winter came back for revenge or Spring is just visiting. Before I begin, I got some news going on in the internet world. Today is the official release of Playstation’s popular series, God of War (or the internet calls the new game God of War 2018 or PS4). As someone who has a PS, I love this game and I do feel guilty for not finishing the entire series. I only completed God of War 1, 3 and Chains of Olympus on PSP. In this new game, the story takes place after the events of 3 where Kratos successfully killed off all the gods on Mount Olympus and killed the leader Zeus. Unlike the previous game where the story’s setting is based off from Greek Mythology, the new story is focused on Norse Mythology. I don’t know much about this genre of myth, but if you are familiar with Asgard, Valhalla, Odin or pretty much anything related to Thor from Marvel, get ready to experience this game. Also, unlike like the last game where you hack and slash enemies, you fight as if you have to actually plan your attacks. You’re not alone in this game, Kratos has a son named Atreus who helps you by shooting at enemies with bows and arrows and it’s up to Kratos to protect him and teach him the dangers of the world and the Norse gods. Overall, according to reviews this game is one of the best games for PS4 in story and gameplay. As a side note, it won’t have any micro transactions so that’s a win! (I am adding this game to my wishlist)

Besides that, we have one week until Avengers: Infinity War and things are about to get intense for the superheros as they fight Thanos and the Black Order. I hope you watched all the MCU films because once we start the movie, you better remember the characters and the location of the Infinity Stones.

With this said, let’s begin this Friday, you mortals!

https://imgur.com/a/qmzCfvx

Here are some interesting God of War videos I found interesting. The cause of Kratos’ hate towards Ares and the gods was the death of wife and daughter. As soon as they died, Olympus died. In this new story, Kratos and his son are faced against new challenges.

Here are the remaining MCU films in Phase 3:

Captain America: Civil War

Doctor Strange

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Thor: Ragnarok

Black Panther

The end is near. 7 days left.

Bye!
