Announced at the website, the upcoming Pokemon movie, Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! (or Pocket Monster: Kimi ni Kimeta) will be released in Japanese Theaters on July 15th. The site also revealed trailer and teaser trailer to the movie which shows an updated animation to Ash (Satoshi) and Pikachu. The movie title is based on the same title for the first episode of the series. Here is the plot of the movie:
The film’s plot tells the story of how Ash (Satoshi) and Pikachu came to know each other. Pikachu was not cooperative toward Ash, but Ash only wanted to be friends with Pikachu. On the day they set out toward Pallet Town (Masara Town), both of them saw a Ho-oh flying and made a vow to someday go and meet it.
Teased in the 14th issue of Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine, there is an announcement that on March 23rd, the current Naruto Shippuden anime arc Konoha Hiden (or Hidden Leaf Story) arc will reach a conclusion. This concluding arc will be the 500th episode of Naruto Shippuden (720 episodes if you count the classic Naruto). However, it’s unknown if this is the official last episode of Shippuden. The last episode will be on March 23rd and with Iruka giving a message to Naruto’s wedding. To those who don’t know, back in December, the franchise animated the epilogue novels in three parts. They animated Sasuke’s story, Shikamaru’s story and the current arc Shugen Biyori (Naruto and Hinata wedding).
Taking a break from the main story, it is also been announced from the magazine that the anime One Piece will be entering a whole new original story arc on March 19th. According to the descriptions, the anime arc will include new characters from the marines and they are known as rookies. The Kanji on their jackets mean rookies but it also share the resemblance to the Supernovas, top powerful rookie pirates. The arc is called the Marine Supernova bridge story arc. Here is the anime description states:
The arc will focus on Luffy and those who are with him traveling to rescue Sanji. After Luffy uses up all their food during their journey, the group infiltrate a Marine base to resupply. Suddenly, three rookie members of Aokiji’s crew appear before Luffy.
The anime will feature the character marine characters (these aren’t official names and will most likely change!):
Grant: who has a strong sense of justice. (voiced by Natsuki Hanae who did Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul)
Bonam (or Bonamu from Crunchyroll): a member of the Longarm Tribe. (will be voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto who did Yasutora Sado from Bleach)
Sappa: a dual-sword wielder (voiced by Makoto Furukawa who did Saitama from One-Punch Man)
Vice-Admiral Prodi (Prody Via from Crunchyroll): who seems to be an old friend of Garp. (will be voiced by Yōhei Tadano)
Last but not least, anime DVD and merchandise online site announced that they will be selling the classic anime to the popular Gundam franchise called Moble Suit Gundam Wing. Thanks to their publisher and distributer Nozomi Entertainment, the anime will be sold on DVD and Blu-Ray this year. The anime was permiered on 1995 with 49 episodes; however, on 2000, this anime became the first Gundam anime to air in the United States. The anime was previously owned by Bandai Entertainment and released for DVD and VHS. You can watch the anime on Hulu as well with English and Japanese audio. Here is the synopsis:
The story takes place in the year After Colony 195, when war between the Space Colonies and Earth has begun. To give the colonies an edge, they send 5 young soldiers, trained to perfection, to earth in the most powerful of Mobile Suits—Gundams. With their arrival, the tide of the war changes as they battle against the Earth forces and the Colonies of their origin.
