Step aside Mortal Kombat 11 and Dead or Alive 6, a fighting game may be taking over for best fighting game. Jump Force is near upon us and that means anime fans will be able to fight with of their favorite characters from the manga franchise Shonen Jump. According to Crunchyroll, Facebook and Instagram just revealed some characters in a pop up ad in their page of Jump Force. Two new characters are revealed in the ad and their names is Jotaro Kujo and Dai. Jotaro is from the third part of the manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures titled Stardust Crusaders. Dai is from the manga series Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures is a series created by manga creator Hirohiko Araki and the manga was licensed by Shueshia and Shonen Jump. Dai is from Dragon Quest: The Adventures of Dai manga and it was written by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Koji Inada. The manga is based on the popular JRPG series Dragon’s Quest.
But wait, there is more news! It looks like One Piece and Dragon Ball won’t be the only series with an expanded roster. Naruto characters will be joining Jump Force. Naruto’s son Boruto Uzamaki will be joining with his father in this fight. Also joining the game is the leader of Team 7 Kakashi Hatake. As Naruto’s mentor and the Leaf Village strongest ninja, he will use his Sharingan to take down enemies; don’t interrupt him when he is reading his book. Once an enemy but now a friend of Naruto, the 5th Kazekage Gaara joins the game. He will use his sand jutsu to bury his foes. Last but not least, we have the mother of all chakra and the villain mastermind behind the Akatsuki and manipulating Madara from the beginning is Kaguya Ōstutsuki. Kaguya is the one that first introduced chakra from eating a forbidden fruit and her children later developed chakra and jutsu which plays a key role in the entire Naruto series. With her forbidden powers, Kaguya will show the world despair.
More of the Uzumaki clan are teaming up with the strongest manga heroes in JUMP FORCE! Boruto Uzumaki will #UniteToFight when #JUMPFORCE releases on February 15th.
“We are Venom!” This is a quote from Sony’s movie adaption of Marvel’s antihero Venom. I saw this movie and I have to admit, it was good movie and I would love to see a sequel or possibly have Venom crossover with Spider-Man. What makes Venom interesting is how the main character Eddie Brock is teamed up with an unknown creature unexpectedly and must learn to control. However, unlike most characters with super powers, Eddie gained these powers by accident and he struggles to control them and what’s worse is that Venom is a living creature with its own motives. In other words, Venom and Eddie has to work together in order to survive against enemies that wants them both dead.
This kind of relationship also exists in the world of anime and manga where characters receive a special power, but changes their lives differently. Some characters get rejected by society and some loses a part of their identity in order to live. In this post, I want to list my top five characters who gained powers but goes through hardships. Anime characters that obtained a power source without any characteristics like Deku from My Hero Academia will not be in this list since even though he does get the quirk One for All from All Might, the quirk is not a living creature. This list will focus on characters obtaining living, powerful beings and learning to cooperate with the hosts. I wasn’t sure how to properly title this post, so if you have any title suggestions for this post, comment down below. It’s been a while since I did a top post so excuse me for my rusty writing.
*There might be minor spoilers, but I will keep it to a minimum! This is not ranked! I am only listing from the top of my head. Also, I will be referring to the movie Venom more often. So if you are reading this and getting tired of me saying, “just like Venom or just like Eddie…”, get used to it!
We have all heard this saying in some shape or form: “Life is a journey.” We travel down a path in hope that we reach a goal or destination, but the travel in getting there isn’t always easy. Along the way, we encounter some personal struggles. It is in those moments where we must overcome an adversity to complete our journey or take a different route or path instead. In this month’s OWLS post, we will be discussing the personal journeys of pop culture creators, icons, and characters. We will explore the journeys that these characters went through, discuss the process and experiences they had on their journeys, what they discover about themselves, or share our own personal journeys.
*This blog tour post will have spoilers to the Naruto (classic/Shippuden) anime!

In the 32nd issue of the Japanese Shonen Jump magazine, the issue revealed that the anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generation will be entering a new arc based on the single volume one-shot Naruto the Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring. The arc will premier this month. If you don’t know what it is, read the synopsis from Viz Media, it involves Sarada and the truth about her parents:
Naruto was a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. Then he channeled that energy into learning amazing ninja techniques and saving the world! Now Naruto has achieved his dream to become the greatest ninja in the village and his face sits atop the Hokage monument. But new troubles are bubbling up in the shinobi world…
With the world now safe and the ninja villages working together, Naruto’s work as Hokage seems pretty mundane. Giving his son, Boruto, enough attention is the toughest task he has. But then Sasuke uncovers a conspiracy that may involve surviving members of the Uchiha clan. And at the same time, Sarada is begins to have doubts about the truth of her origins.

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome to the Carnival… I mean welcome to TGIF Friday Funny. I am Matthew and welcome to another exciting post. We officially ended January and it has been an eventful month. As part of the OWLS, I want to say that the January Blog Tour was a success. You can read everyone’s, including mine, post here. As most of you are aware, this week has also been exciting because of past announcements.
This year marks the 30th anniversary to the game franchise Final Fantasy. Square Enix recently released on updates on games like a Remastered Final Fantasy XII release date, a key image to Final Fantasy VII Remake, and new DLC for Final Fantasy XV! As a reborn Final Fantasy fan, this year will be great and it will hurt my wallet. I will have to spend time on both Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts.
Also, if you missed out on the livestream podcast from Weekly Shonen Jump last week, you can watch it below. The American Weekly Shonen Jump announced that 6 new Jump Starts are coming to the new issues as part of the 5 years anniversay of the digital platform Weekly Shonen Jump. Another exciting news discussed that the movie Boruto: Naruto the Movie will be released on March 28th with English Dub. This movie takes place after the story of Naruto and focuses on the new generation of children.
To celebrate the anniversaries, here is some funnies!
As an anime fan, you meet a variety of unique and different characters. However, have you seen a character that seemed too similar to another character? I am saying, have you seen a character that looked almost similar in appearance? Sometimes, a mangaka artist or author may create their characters by coincidence or they base it off from someone’s work. If it’s based on works, they either (a) really respect the original artist and wanted to do their own creation or (b) steal the idea and claim it as their own. In this top post 5 posts, I will be showing some anime characters that look strikingly similar to other characters in different works. This will be focused on different works and not on the same genre (in short, this may not be limited to only anime. Also this is not in order. Just things that popped in my head).
Revealed at Jump Fiesta, it’s confirmed from Lionsgate that the movie director Michael Gracey (who will also do The Greatest Showman) will be directing the live-action Naruto film. Also revealed at the event, Naruto creator Masahi Kishimoto will be helping with this film too.
So in other words, another manga/anime series gets the live-action treatment!
Also announced at Jump Fiesta, the Boruto manga created by Ukyo Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto will become an anime on April 2017. Viz Media also confirmed it to be real but it’s unsure when will it be on TV specifically. Kishimoto, original creator of Naruto and Boruto, announced this is another special project he was working on. According to his quote “I plan to make it even better than Naruto“. this anime will surpass the previous anime.
It’s also confirmed that the previous voice actors to the Boruto film will return. This new anime will be called Boruto – Naruto Next Generations. for this anime!
