Whether you either a fan of Pokemon for a long time or just wanted to join the trend, Pokemon is a revolutionary franchise that brings people together for fun. Whether you played the games, watched the anime or even played the card games, Pokemon has some kind of magic that attracts them. Thanks to the phone app game Pokemon GO, people are stepping out and exploring the world in order to catch Pokemon. With the new updates, people can be friends by sending friend requests. This allows people exchange gifts and also trade Pokemon. Did you know it can also bring friendship? It’s been reported by Crunchyroll that two well known Shonen Jump manga authors have become friends from Pokemon GO and how the game changed their habits. In a tweet, it’s revealed that it was My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi who befriended One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda. In a tweet, Horikoshi said after he befriended Oda sensei in Pokemon Go, he got inspired to take walks out of his office and take up exercising more for his free time. In his tweet, he sketched out one of the characters from his series. The sketch shows Mina Ashido playing Pokemon GO on her phone. Mina Ashido is a friend and classmate to protagonist Izuku Midoriya and her quirk is the ability to spur out acid.
Do you still play Pokemon GO?
This is an odd collaboration, but then again, this is Japan we are talking about and it’s pretty common to see collaborations like this. It’s been announced today that there is plans of a Pokemon Go and One Piece collaboration. From July 22 to 29, players who are playing Pokemon Go will get exclusive items referencing the manga/anime series One Piece. If fortunate, players will be able to catch a Pikachu wearing a Straw Hat and players will also be able to wear Luffy’s iconic straw hat. I am not sure if it’s only going to be Japanese exclusive, but based on sources, it doesn’t say anything that anywhere it’s excluded. If it’s global, it is good news for us.
Summer is heating up in the anime community this year. As you all know, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, is getting involved with the anime in anticipation for the upcoming 14th film ONE PIECE STAMPEDE. One Piece Stampede will be in theaters in Japan on August 9th and it will have the singing band WANIMA and the new song is “GONG”. Today, according to Crunchyroll, Japan has just revealed an extended trailer highlighting the movie’s new antagonists and story plot. We also get to see the main cast the Straw Hat Pirates along with friends and foes and they’re struggle against the villain Bullet. According to the trailer, Bullet was once a crew member of the late Pirate King Gold Rodger.
If you are in Japan and you are the first 3 million of the people watching this movie, you will be given a special manga.
The team finally made an all-star movie! Awesome!

If you like open world games and the anime One Piece, Bandai Namco will be adding additional content for fans who want more fun in One Piece World Seeker. Already announced, this upcoming summer, the game will be releasing a DLC where players can play as Zoro and do his episode mission titled Episode #1: The Void Mirror Prototype.
Bandai Namco will be releasing Episode DLC in which players can play as Luffy’s older brother Sabo and Luffy’s friend alley Law. Sabo will be available in Fall of 2019 and Law will be on Winter 2019.
If you want more Shonen Jump anime movies, look no further because I found some awesome news for One Piece fans. Toei Animation revealed a trailer on the upcoming movie One Piece: Stampede film. It’s also revealed that the movie will be premiered in Japanese theaters on August 9th, 2019. So far, there is no word from Funimation on a English Dub screening. In this movie we see Straw Hat attend a giant pirate festival called Pirate Expo. Besides the main characters, we have other characters such as Law, Buggy, the marines like Smoker, Hancock, Lucci and even Luffy’s brother Sabo. There is also two new characters designed by One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda named Festa and Bullet who I am assuming is the antagonist of the movie.
If Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin can be live action, maybe One Piece can do the same? I found this from IGN saying that a live action One Piece series could be happening. Being done by Tomorrow Studios, a One Piece live action series will be happening and it will only be viewed by Netflix subscribers. Sot far there’s no new information, but according to ResetEra, One Piece if founded on Netflix with the plot synopsis.
What is your opinion towards this idea? Again, IGN says seemly so maybe it could happen or not.
Somebody call the fashion police because One Piece is bring in some killer fashion! I found a recent update to the upcoming One Piece film ONE PIECE STAMPEDE in Crunchyroll news. The official One Piece anime site has posted up the “summer vacation” clothes for the 9 Straw Hat Members. It’s pretty common for the Straw Hat crew to get new clothes which is evident in the past films such as Strong World, Z, and Gold. We don’t have any battle outfits yet to see, only the vacation ones. According to the site, the clothes was both designed by the anime staff and Japanese clothes company UT which is sold by Uniqlo.
Last but not least, we also got a teaser trailer for the movie which shows returning characters like Law, Smoker and Buggy along with new characters named Bullet and Festa. It’s unknown what’s the plot but it has something to do with a festival and Gol D. Roger’s, The Pirate King, treasure.
Are you guys excited for the movie? ONE PIECE STAMPEDE is the 14th movie and it will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime series. The movie is expected to be released in Japanese theaters on August 19th, 2019.
A brand new year means new beginnings and opportunities. We have a tendency to embrace the new year because it’s a time when we can start fresh. For this month’s topic, we will be exploring our favorite dynamic characters who undergo changes for better or for worse. We will analyze these characters’ transformations and how these transformations benefited or minimized these characters’ potential in becoming “great people/beings.” We will also use these characters as a way for us to reflect on our own lives and who we want to become. Lastly, we would like to say “Happy New Year, everyone!”

In my last post about the One Piece 14th movie, we were given a key visual image and the movie being titled as One Piece Stampede. While we still don’t know about the plot of the movie or we haven’t been given a full trailer, we did get some art sketches from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda. Oda is back and he just revealed the sports gear on the Straw Hat crew in rough sketches.
This is the only information I found at Crunchyroll, but I will try to keep you guys up to date. One Piece Stampede is the 14th movie and it also commemorates 20 years of the One Piece anime
