Friday Funny 142: New Season for 25 cents

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to a new episode and season of TGIF Friday Funny! Before we start this episode, I got some new news for you. As we enter 2018, get ready for new stuff like video games and movies! Currently in January, we will be getting some new fighting games: Dragonball FighterZ, Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. In Dragonball FighterZ, Publisher Bandai Namco of Entertainment and Developer Arc Work Systems will be working together and create a new Dragonball fighting game. It won’t be like Budokai, Tenkaichi nor the Xenoverse and instead, the game will be played like the Guilty Gear series. The animation will be similar to the manga and anime and it will have characters from Z and Super along with a new character named Android 21. In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Capcom will re-release Street Fighter V but it will include free updated content such as DLC characters to the recent roster, an arcade mode where you can unlock illustrations and even new V-Triggers for fun combat. If you already have Street Fighter V, the Arcade Edition will be a free download so you don’t have to pay again. If you are like me and didn’t buy the game, you can buy the Arcade Edition instead and the price is about $35. Last but not least we have Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. In this game, players will be able to control their favorite heroes from FF1 to FF15 along with Type-0 and Tactics. The game will be in PS4 and the with the help of Team Ninja, the characters look amazing. Ever want to play as Noctis (FF15) and fight Sephiroth (FF7) or have Cloud (FF7) fight Kefka (FF6)? Now you can!

As random news, January 4th is the day where the Cartoon Network classic Ed, Edd’n Eddy debuted on TV. This is my cartoon growing up and it’s something I would watch everyday besides SpongeBob SquarePants. Ed, Edd’n Eddy first premiered in January 4th, 1999 and now that we are in 2018, this cartoon is 19 years old. The show starred three young boys who’s named both starts with Eds, who creates these devious scams in hopes of robbing kids in order to buy jawbreakers. We have the first Ed named Ed who is the dumbest but happy kid who has bad odor but with great strength; he also loves chickens and eats butter toast with gravy. He is voiced by Matt Hill who surprisingly did voices for anime characters such as Kira Yamoto in Gundam Seed Destiny and Bankotsu in Inuyasha and Mou Ten in Kingdom. Second Ed is Eddward but he nicknamed Double D because his name has two D’s. He is the smartest and clean freak kid who likes to stay organize and creates plans for the group. He wears a hat but no one knows why he wears it and the only people who seen his head is his own friends Ed and Eddy. Double D is voiced by Samuel Vincent who did many voices in cartoons and anime. In anime, he did Dexter from Hamtaro, Sidoh from Death Note, and just like Matt Hill, he was in Gundam Seed Destiny and he voiced Athrun Zala. Last but not least, we have Eddy. Eddy is the leader and the shortest of the group. He is the one comes up with the scams and he is the greediest kid. He constantly brags about having a cool and intimated brother and he wants to be the popular kid in the cul-de-sac. Eddy is voiced by Tony Sampson. He also did anime but unlike the previous two he didn’t do Gundam Seed Destiny and instead, he was in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed as Miguel Aiman and he voiced as Toya Kinomoto in Cardcaptor Sakura.

Sorry for this extensive information, but I love this show and I could go on but I need to start this episode. Here is something to laugh!

To conclude this post, here are some Canadian humor!

Life as many doors Ed boys! See you next time!

Friday Funny 110: Captain of Memorial Day

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome to another exciting episode of TGIF Friday Funny! This weekend is a three day weekend for some because Monday is Memorial Day in which we pay our respects for the veterans and soldiers who gave their lives to war and protection. While some may have to work in the weekends, others have days off; some are even graduating in schools and I would like to say congratulations to all the students. You guys made it this far and it’s up to you know which path do you want to take in life.

In other news, today is the movie (and fifth film) release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tells No Tales. This movie will have your fan favorite characters like Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and much more as they deal with some undead pirates seeking vengeance and try to find a sacred and powerful item called the Trident of Poseidon, an object that allows the user to control the seas. If pirates is not your interest, I got other news if you like samurais; Toonami on Saturday will be doing a Samurai Jack season 5 marathon and encore of the last episode if you missed out or want experience the moments again. I also did a spoiler-free review of the cartoon season if you want to know my thoughts and see if it’s worth watching.

Last but not least, feel free to check out the OWLS recent posts. In this week, check out posts from Lita, Rai, Arria and Takuto as we tackle on the topic of Strength and how do we conquer our weaknesses. Also, please support OWLS blogger Becknaja as she also writes for MANGA.TOKYO, a site dedicated for fans who have an interest in Japanese media; she wrote a review for the BL manga series Ten Count.

Anyway, let’s end this May!

Here is some booty I found for this post

When in doubt, if you can’t watch the new movie, watch this classic cartoon!

See you later in Davy Jone’s Locker!

TGIF Friday Funny 87: Rebel or Assassin?

Thank God it’s Friday! Today is another episode of TGIF Friday Funny. Excuse me for the lack of news or reviews this week, I have been busy with work and I also got distracted on some new video games. Besides getting Final Fantasy XV on the release day, last Saturday, I recently bought Sword Art Online: Lost Song for PS4 from GameStop for $21! This game is really fun and I enjoy flying around as Kirito. Even though I haven’t been posting news in regards to anime, I do got some important news to bring up again.

To those who didn’t know, a couple of anibloggers came together for a special project and decide to devote their time to help people feel good about themselves and keep the community strong and positive. They are called the OWLS.

First brought up by Kauses of Otaku Gamer Zone, he messaged the groups about this project in early November this year and we have decided that we need to make sure people feel safe about being an individual. Here is the mission:

“We are a group of otaku bloggers who promotes acceptance of all individuals regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and disability. We emphasize the importance of respect, kindness, and tolerance to every human being.”

Also here are the members working at OWLS:

President: Katrina Sade (Grimmgirl)
Vice President: Kausus (Otaku Gamer Zone)
Secretary: Arria Cross (Fujinsei)
Co-secretrary: crimson613 (Crimson Blogs at Night)
Chief Creative Officer: LynLyn (Just Something About LynLyn)
Members Review & Disciplinary Committee Officer: Pink-chan (Pinky’s Palace)
Members Review & Disciplinary Committee Officer: Venus (Japanime Talks)
Public Relations Officer: Naja B.(aka pokeninja90) (Nice Job Breaking It, Hero)

Members (Updated):

Lita (LitaKino Anime Corner)
Matthew Castillo (Matt-in-the-Hat)
Shay (Anime Reviewer Girl)
Takuto (Takuto’s Anime Cafe)

Stephanie Clarke (Anime Girls NYC)

If you want more information on OWLS, check out here or Arria Cross in Fujinsei. Feel free to follow on Twitter as well:

Besides this important news, get ready for some other news. As we get close to Christmas and people are finishing up finals at school, it’s time to kick back and go Christmas shopping. If you don’t plan to shop yet, go ready for some movies! Today is the movie release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. This movie is a side story about a new cast of characters who set out on a quest to uncover the secret plans of the Death Star. This story takes place between Episode III and IV. Another movie to look forward to is movie adaptation to the popular Ubisoft title “Assassin’s Creed”. In this movie, Callium Lynch will go through the experiences of his ancestors with the help of advance technology. He goes through the eyes of his ancestor in 15th century Spain, Aguilar. Aguilar is part of a secret organization known as The Assassin’s and Callium will go through the hidden mysterious of his past. The movie will be in theaters December 21.

Whew! Done with the news, now it’s time for some funnies!

To end this post, here are some video trailers for 2017:

Have an awesome day or night!

TGIF Friday Funny 86: I want video games for Christmas!

Thank God it’s Friday Hello everyone. Good morning, good afternoon and evening! I’m Matthew and I am here to bring and share some funny memes and gifs for your Friday. Before I begin, I will bring some quick news. The first is being that FUNimation announced that they will be premiering the two Dragon Ball anime on Toonami at January 7th; the first is Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapter. Second, Arria Cross (a great blogger friend) is hosting the 8th Blog Carnival. If you are an aniblogger and want to participate, feel free to visit and follow the rules. Share a post, in regards to anime or manga, and meet new friends. Third, my blogging and YouTuber friend Lita recently did a livestream with my other good friends Kat  and Beck. If you missed out, check out the livestream here:

Finally for gamers, the reason why I made this title for this episode is because Playstation recently announced some amazing games. The classic PS hero Crash Bandicoot returns and the company Activision recreate the original 3 games for the PS4 titled “Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy”. Marvel and Capcom return and create the next MvC game called “Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite”. There are some amazing video games coming out for 2017 to even mention.

Anyway, let’s begin this Friday!

To conclude this post, here are some new video games I want for 2017.

Goodbye everyone!!!

TGIF Friday Funny 84: Reclaim the Throne

Thank God it’s Friday! Hello everyone and happy Friday. This is Matthew and even though Thanksgiving was Thursday, I wish to say Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone had a wonderful day and got to spend time with their love ones. This is one of those times where you can eat as much food you want without worrying about eating too much or getting fat XD. This is an important holiday in the United States because we remember what are we thankful for and acknowledge what is important. In my Christian beliefs, we thank God for providing a home to live and thank for the blessings God has given us. I will say that I am thankful for my family providing me and helping me through life, I am thankful for God who never left me and always kept me safe, and finally, I am thankful for all my friends who didn’t leave me and supported me. Thank you everyone!

Judging by this title and this meme I made recently, you can tell what’s happening this next week. After this weekend, the long awaited Square Enix game Final Fantasy XV will be released globally on November 29. This game is available for PS4 and Xbox One. In this game, players will play as the Noctis and with his friends, they must save his kingdom from the enemy forces of Niflheim. To increase this hype, check out my related posts. Check out my review on the Platinum Demo or the anime prequel Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV. Also, check out my gameplay of the Platinum Demo if you are interested:

If you are not planing to get this game because you’re spending time with Pokemon Sun and Moon or just not into this, I got better news. Anime sites like Rightstuf, Amazon and Sentai Filmworks are slashing down prices on their select anime titles for the holiday season. If you plan to shop for anime DVDs for Black Friday, Cyber Monday or just the whole month of December, check these places and spend on some anime goods!

Last but not least, another Shonen Jump titles ended this week. The action-adventure food series Toriko is over. This year is the end of another Shonen Jump titles. Nisekoi ended, Bleach is done and now Toriko is over. Don’t forget to buy the manga and experience the action of fighting animals and eating food.

With all this said, let’s begin this tasty post!

To start off this weekend, here are some music played by different artists who sings the song “Stand By Me”.

Here is the opening song to Toriko. Thanks for all the fun!

Have a wonderful weekend!

TGIF Friday Funny 80: Why so serious?

Thank God it’s Friday! Today is another episode of Friday Funny hosted by yours truly, Matthew of Matt-in-the-Hat. This maybe too early but since we are most likely be busy on Monday, I wanted to say Happy (Early) Halloween. Halloween is on Monday! Isn’t that scary? Anyway, I decided to say this early because I can imagine that we all have plans on that day whether it’s hosting a Halloween party or just going trick-or-treating for candy or even binging on horror films. If you plan to be active at night, be careful of crazy people. You might come across muggers that would want to rob you or creepy clowns that will do things I don’t even want to imagine. If you are brave to go outside, bring out your weapons for self-defense. Besides Halloween being the news, I also have other news!

First, if you still play Pokemon Go, it’s been announced that there is an event going from Oct 26- November 1 that will be doubling candy for capturing Pokemon and spooky Pokemon like Ghastly will appear on your phone. Second, Nintendo unveiled the new console called the Nintendo Switch. With this new device, players can play new games at home or anywhere by switching the controller/device. In other words, it’s a home console and portable device! Based on the trailers, get ready for third party games! Unfortunately, you can’t play Wii U or 3DS games on it. Last but not least, next week I will be really busy because at work, we are having a Peak week. In that week, I will be working overtime and stowing stuff at Amazon because there are many customers who will be online shopping. While you shop, I work to help you buy! You’re welcome. XD

Enough talk! Let’s get spooky!! BOO!!!

To end this post, here are some creepy but funny videos. Don’t watch at night. Lol 😉

I hope you all have a safe night at Halloween!

TGIF Friday Funny 78: Happy Birthday Big Sis!

Thank God it’s Friday! Good morning everyone. It’s me Matt and I am here again for another episode of TGIF Friday Funny. In today episode, I got some exciting news! The first piece of news is that today is my older sister’s birthday! She was born today, October 14 and it’s a blessing to have her as an older sister. My sister loves to read and her favorite books are Harry Potter and the Hunger Games. She likes to paint, read her Bible and loves to listen to music. She also has a boyfriend but things are going to get better at January! Happy Birthday!!!

In other news in my personal life, I recently got a job and now that I am done with school, I will be gaining work experience. I am working at Amazon! However, since I am working, this also means my schedule might be busy again just like college life. Don’t worry however, I will still be here blogging and on Twitter. 🙂

Last news is that if you still watch Toonami, you may have heard that One-Punch Man has ended. However, a new anime will be joining Toonami and it’s called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures. Based on the recent promo video, voice actor Johnny Yong Bosch will be the English voice of Jonathan Joestar and Patrick Seitz is Dio Brando. With this said, let’s boogie!

Here are some songs that my sister will love:

If you are not into Disney Songs, enjoy some JoJo Bizarre Adventure opening songs to help bring hype for Toonami premiere!

Happy Birthday sister! I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend!! 🙂

TGIF Friday Funny 76: Fire vs Ice – The Great Debate

Thank God it’s Friday! Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of TGIF: Friday Funny. I am your host Matthew and I am here to bring your daily laughs. First things firsts, here are some brief news. I have good news and bad news; I will start with the bad news. Today was original release date to the long awaited video game Final Fantasy XV but according to the news, the video game got delayed and needed more time to clean up bugs and patches. Instead, recently, Sega has released the delayed video game of Sonic the Hedgehog’s other game series Sonic Boom titled “Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice“. This game is for Nintendo 3DS and you will be able to play as Sonic and his friends and use the power of fire and ice to beat every level. Also in the side note, we had our debate over here with the candidates, Donald Trump  (R) and Hilary Clinton (D). This is where I came up with the name.

Good news is that today is the last day of September. It’s time to say goodbye and welcome the last three months of 2016; first being October. October is the time where people dress up in costumes and decorate the house for Christ *ahem* I mean Halloween! It will be a spoooky month filled with horror, candy and the change of the cooler weather. Over here it’s still hot! I also finally watched the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘f’. Feel free to chat with me about this movie. I will eventually do a review on it as well. Last but not least, if you paid attention to my blog, I blogged the whole month of September! All 30 days of September is filled!!

Without further ado, let’s end September!

To end this post, here some cool songs that will heat up this cold season!

Burn Baby Burn!

Ice Ice Baby!

Good bye and see you next from yours truly, the hottest but cool guy Matthew!

TGIF Friday Funny 74: Kon’nichiwa and Sayonara!

Thank God it’s Friday! Today is Friday and before I start this post, I got some exciting news. Here is the surprise announcement:

I will be leaving for family vacation this weekend. Saturday I will be gone and I will be back on Monday. That also means I might not be able to respond back like the usual; so expect some delay messages. In concerning of the 30 Day Anime Challenge, they are scheduled this weekend. They will automatically be posted on the appropriate days.  The challenge will keep going but I will unlikely respond. If so, it maybe very late.

Also in other Japanese news, Square Enix recently revealed more details on the game Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue at the Tokyo Game Show. Also worth mentioning, the Pokemon Company International will be streaming their new Pokemon anime spinoff called Pokemon Generations which will cover up the previous regions with new characters. The anime will be in total of 18 episodes and today the first episode will be streamed.

In regards with the anime I have been watching, I am recently caught up with Brotherhoof Final Fantasy XV. I’m waiting on the next episode.

With that said, let’s begin this Friday with laugh from yours truly Sensei Matthew!

To end this post, here some anime songs sung by Disney’s popular character… Goofy! The voice was done by a YouTuber named ProZD. He does funny videos and he also does Goofy impressions. Here are some anime op!  (Goofy is my favorite anime hero!)

Sayanora! Have a nice weekend!!

TGIF Friday Funny 73: A New Age of Change

TGIF! Thank God it’s Friday!

Good morning everyone, today is another episode of Friday Funny. As we are all on the second week of September, it’s a time of change. Around this time, not only people are starting school, but also the time and season. I hope you all had a great labor, an extra day of rest is needed. This month marks the beginning of the last quarter of 2016; we have September, October, November and December. As we approach the months, get ready to see stores prepping up holiday deals and decorations. The season will also change because summer is ending and we will be in fall. So make sure you change your summer shorts and start wearing pants and long-sleeves because it’s going to get cold. If you have been keeping up Apple news, Nintendo made some exciting news such as new Mario iOS game called Super Mario Run was announced and Pokemon Go will be available on Apple Watches.

Also exciting news is the recent announcement of the partnership between FUNimation and Crunchyroll. What does this mean for us fans, according to the news, more anime that a exclusive will be available to be stream at each website (Watch Cowboy Bebop at Crunchyroll now!). More anime will also be getting English Dub DVD releases and more anime will get broadcasted dubs.

I am also halfway finished with my 30 Day Challenge! I will admit, there are some questions that made me second guess myself, I kept changing my answers constantly.

Also, on a serious matter, this Sunday will be Patriot Day, September 11. This is one of America’s important day because we all take a moment remember the horrific tragedy that happened way back in 2001. Some may have remembered that day like yesterday. I pray for anyone still needs healing and I do hope the violence will end. This one day in history changed our future forever. Let’s never forget that attack.

Now with said, let’s begin this Friday with a smile. 🙂

To end this post, here are some clips!

That’s all folks. Matthew, logging off!
