Out of Print?! No. 6 is on sale

Need something to buy for Christmas like a stocking stuffer for your cart? I may have the solution to your problem. I got an email from Sentai Filmworks that the Shonen-Ai (or yaoi) series No. 6 is on sale as low as $9.99 for Blu-Ray. At first, I thought it was letting me know to shop since Sentai Filmworks is well-known for cutting down prices for the Christmas holiday, but after looking at the cover, there could only be one good reason why they are telling about this particular anime: Aniplex. The email I got told me that this anime is going out of print! I don’t know much about this anime, but I know the manga is licensed by Kodansha, same team who does the Attack on Titan manga and A Silent Voice. I did hear that the main male characters have romantic feelings for each other. According to the wiki, it doesn’t say Yaoi, but it feels more of a Shojo or Shonen-Ai series. Here is what the plot is described by Sentai Filmworks:

In a near future world after the last great war, most of mankind now lives in a handful of city states. There, for the privileged elite, life should be perfect. But for young Shion, the only thing perfect has been the nightmare his life has become since letting a strange boy called Rat spend the night in his apartment. Banished to the outskirts of the city and stripped of all privileges for helping the mysterious stranger who has since disappeared, Shion now finds himself in even worse danger as his inquiry into a new series of mysterious deaths results in his being arrested on suspicion of murder! But even as Shion is being sent to the city’s Correctional Institute, the long missing Rat reappears to rescue him! Now, on the run, the two young men have only one chance at survival: uncover the mysterious secrets that lie at the sinister heart of No. 6!

So if you are someone who wants to save an anime licensed by Aniplex, get this one! If you want a male-male relationship series, get this one! If you want to save money and try a new anime, get this one!

To Love-Ru anime finally gets an English Dub!

If you are an English Dub fan and you like anime like High School DxD and Monster Musume, get ready for this title because it’s coming back in English! It’s been confirmed by Sentai Filmworks that the fan service anime To Love-Ru is getting an English Dub according to ANN. Here is what the plot is described according to Sentai Filmworks:

One should always understand other people’s customs before making commitments. Unfortunately, Rito Yuki had no idea the planet Develuke even existed when their Princess Lala teleported naked into his bathtub, let alone that touching a girl’s breasts is how they propose marriage!

Given that he was in the tub when she appeared, and slippery soap suds being what they are, Rito’s now engaged to a beautiful girl with a pointed tail. Worse, various aliens are showing up on missions of varying hostile intent, the girl that Rito really loves is still completely unaware of his feelings, and all of the new customs he’s got to learn seem to involve touching a girl’s chest! (Okay, maybe he’ll get used to that last one, but he’s still in high school and a bit intimidated.) Can a nice boy from Japan become the next King of Galaxy A or will he just end up feeling like a boob?

This series is based on Weekly Shonen Jump manga created by two people; the artist is Kentaro Yabuki and the writer is Saki Hasemi. Kentaro Yabuki is an artist is well known for doing another Shonen Jump title Black Cat and he was mentored by Takeshi Obata who is known for doing manga like Death Note and Bakuman. Saki Hasemi is an anime screen writer who helped Yabuki in doing the manga and he is involved with the anime. You can buy the manga as well, but it is all owned by Seven Seas Entertainment. To Love-Ru is a Shonen Jump title that belongs to other titles like Naruto, One Piece and Bleach.

Aniplex is back and is taking yet another anime title from the market. Announced on Twitter and to those who have the newsletters, Sentai Filmworks announced that the license to the anime films of Mardock Scramble has expired. This anime owned by both Sentai Filmworks and Aniplex; there are three movies of this anime. If you don’t have the trilogy or you want to own the movie series without paying a hefty amount of money, I strongley recommend buying this anime from the Sentai Filmworks shopping site. I placed an order for this anime today and it only costs about $22 dollars for three movies.

Synopsis:

Murdered by a sadistic slayer of women, Rune Balot finds herself reborn for one purpose: to bring her killer to justice. But even knowing the identity of her murderer, proving he’s the one responsible for her death won’t be easy, especially when the murderer himself has forgotten his crimes. With the help of Doctor Easter, the man who restored her to life, and Oeufcoque, an intelligent, self-aware universal item capable of assuming the form and function of anything from a gun to a mouse, to a lady’s glove, Rune will have to find the proof to convict a vicious killer without dying a second time. In a world of black market body parts, high-stakes gambling, and lurid violence, justice will be written in blood as vengeance hit the streets in MARDOCK SCRAMBLE!

July Unboxing: Mid-Year Sale on Anime Goods!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is doing okay in this hot season of the month. As we all know, July is coming to an end and this means that we are reaching the second half of the year of 2018. I hope you guys had a fun season this month. As most of you already know, July is the hottest month for not only having a summer season in climate, but this is also a good month to shop! Since I have a job and fortunately, I didn’t go broke on my bank account, I didn’t hesitate (sort of) on shopping for anime deals! Sites like Sentai Filmworks was having a mega deal on all anime including Premium Sets like High School of the Dead Complete Collection with DVD/Blu-Ray combo including OVA and Akame Ga Kill Premium Sets 1 and 2. Rightstuf had a sale on many things like Mega Deals on DVD sets and Premium sets that changed everyday; this includes adult content. They had weekly sales on certain manga and select titles in DVDs. I believe Amazon did their own thing as well, but to be honest, I didn’t shop with them. I am not much an Amazon fan because I had a bad experience working with them as an employee and I didn’t like how they gave me my final paycheck.

Besides that, I am here to show you my new DVDs in which I purchased from Sentai Filmworks and Rightstuf. Thank you guys for the amazing sales and I can’t wait to shop for more in the future!

Sentai Filmworks:

For $75, I bought Rurouni Kenshin New Kyoto Arc (I needed a cart stuffer to help me free shpping), Outbreak Company DVD set, Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon DVD/Blu-Ray LE and the OVA DVD Is It Wrong to Expect A Hot Spring in A Dungeon?.

RightStuf

For $51 and being cheaper than the Sentai Filmworks site, I got the spinoff anime of DanMachi called Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side Premium Box Set. This title so long and I wished it stuck with a shorter title. I got this during a Mega Deal sale. Now I have all the anime series!

Last but not least, I bought myself some action anime. Ironically, these titles were not LE and were just DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital standard versions. I bought My Hero Academia season 2 sets 1 and 2. I plan to watch these sets and help me get ready for season 3. Thank you Funimation!

What did you buy during this month? Thank you for reading my post. Please support these anime sites Sentai Filmworks and Rightstuf. They made it possible and they want to be able to help you guys to buy anime and support the content.

Anime News: No more DVDs from Sentai Filmworks

I found out this news in my newsletter and it was also mentioned in Twitter.

According to the English License company Sentai Filmworks, the company is hoping to phase out all home DVDs formats for future anime by 2019. This means that in 2019 and the future, all anime will most likely be sold as Blu-Ray sets (standard or Premium) or digital series. However, certain older anime that already has been sold in DVD format (Clannad, Angel Beats, Parasyte, Akame ga Kill or other DVD released titles) will still be sold.

As part of the recent news, Sentai Filmworks will be giving shoppers a free Blu-Ray DVD player if they make a purchase of $299 or more in the online store. The promotion begins in September 19 to September 30.

This is surprising news since most people prefer buying DVDs or DVD combos. With the future progressing, Sentai Filmworks wants fans to experience anime in Hi-Def. I don’t think I will do this offer since PS3 and PS4 already has a built-in Blu-Ray player inside.

AX News Announcements

If you have been unable to go to Anime Expo like me but you have been following the news, I will be announcing some exciting news in which may peak your interest. Just a heads up, if I missed anything, please comment down below and leave links so people can be informed as well. I won’t be able to get every news so feel free to help expand.

Aniplex of America

At the panel Aniplex of America announced that they will be releasing the home videos of the both anime Fate/Grand Order: First Order OVA and Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga.

Preoders will begin on July 5th for Fate/Grand Order: First Order OVA with the store price of $69.98 for Blu-Ray. The anime will be have English Sub and Dub, a booklet, soundtrack and other extras. Here is the synopsis:

The year is AD 2017
The last era in which magecraft still thrived.
The Chaldea Security Organization was founded to focus on preserving the continuation of human history. They observe a world which magecraft couldn’t observe and science couldn’t measure all to prevent the certain extinction of humanity. But one day, the future that Chaldea continued to observe disappears and humanity’s extinction in 2019 becomes clear. Rather, it had already happened.
The cause seems to be related to Fuyuki, a provincial town in Japan, in the year AD 2004. There, an “unobservable region” that had not existed before appears.
Based on the assumption that Fuyuki is the reason for humanity’s extinction, Chaldea issues an order to explore, investigate, and possibly destroy this singularity – a quest for the Holy Grail: the Grand Order.

Also announced is Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga. Aniplex will release the anime in two sets with the option to pay for DVD or Blu-Ray sets. The first set will be released on November 14, 2017 and the second set will be on February 13, 2018. The DVD will be priced as $29.96 and the Blu-Ray will be $59.96. The sets will each have bonus content. Here is the anime synopsis:
Assiah, the realm of humans, and Gehenna, the realm of demons. Normally, these two dimensions would never intersect, but having possessed all material substances, the demons are now intruding on the material world. But among the human race, there are those who can exorcise such demons—the exorcists.

Rin Okumura kept the fact that he was Satan’s offspring a secret from everyone and decided to become an exorcist. He began his training at True Cross Academy but following the incidents involving Amaimon’s raid, his lineage became apparent. Fearing his true nature and the blue flames marking his connection to Gehenna, Rin’s classmates all distanced themselves from him. Meanwhile, the academy was on high alert when they realized that the “Left Eye of the Impure King” had been stolen! What lies ahead for Rin and his classmates?
