Jump Force news: Hancock, Trunks and Renji joins the game

If you guys thought that Asta joining Jump Force was cool, get ready for some more exciting news!

Announced by Bandai Namco, we are going to get three different characters from the series One Piece, Dragon Ball and Bleach. From One Piece, we have the Empress and one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea Boa Hancock. With the power of the Love-Love Fruit, Hancock can use her lovely charms and attacks to turn her enemies into stone. She is the coldest pirate in the seas, but her weakness is the rubber pirate Monkey D. Luffy and she is in love with him and she can’t help but not say no to him. Joining her is the son of the Saiyan Prince Vegeta named Trunks Briefs. Sent from a dark future, Trunks is sent to the past to help Goku and his friends from Earth’s destruction from the hands of the Androids and save their future. In Bleach, make way for Renji Abari. Renji is Rukia’s childhood friend while becoming Soul Reapers at the academy. Renji later became a vice captain to Rukia’s brother Byakuya. Renji was also Ichigo’s rival when they first met, but after their fight, these two became great friends and allies against evil threats. In this version, players will be able to play as Renji during the Thousand-Year Blood War (final arc in the manga).

It’s been announced from Viz and Weekly Shonen Jump that they’re planning on starting a premium plan as low as $1.99 for people to read manga!

Hisashi Sasaki, editor of Weekly Shonen Jump in English and Japanese, mentioned that the goal for this new plan is to help bring in new members and fans and help support legal manga. Instead of being called Weekly Shonen Jump, it will be called Shonen Jump.

According to the Viz site, Shonen Jump will begin on December 17th, 2018 (same time as Tumblr will remove all +17 content lol). Free users will access to these here:

  • FREE chapters of One PieceMy Hero AcademiaBorutoDragon Ball Super and many more!

  • Official and same day as Japan!

  • New chapters weekly!

  • With new series coming!

However, if you want to pay for the plan and show support, here is what you get even more:

You’ll get a free trial of the plan. The price is very small if you are doing monthly. You’ll get access to a ton of manga chapters from different series.

If you are already a member of Weekly Shonen Jump like me, you will have instant access to the plan and your subscription expiration date will be pushed three months ahead for free. You can read the frequently asked questions if you are already a member and still want to learn more.

Also announced, according to ANN, Shonen Jump will be adding more manga for the line up that you don’t usually read in the magazine. Here is what is being added:

What do you guys think about this new plan? Instead of reading a magazine, you are going to be reading a vault of many chapters from your favorite series on the app and website. You will be able to read manga legally and support the authors without using a shady scanned site.

Jump Force news: New characters and a hub world?

Greetings anime fans! I have found some awesome news in the world of anime and video games. Most of you are aware of the anticipated crossover fighting game Jump Force. Bandai Namco announced the release of more Shonen Jump characters joining the brawl. Here are the new characters:

Joining the game with the characters the young kid Hunter Gon Freecss and the disturbing card fighter Hisoka from the series Hunter x Hunter.

Added from the Dragon Ball series is Goku’s rival and friend Vegeta the Prince of all the Saiyans.

Last but not least, we have more characters from One Piece. Joining Luffy and Zoro is the Straw Hat Crew’s cook and fighter Sanji Vinsmoke. Luffy’s second oldest brother Sabo joins the fight and is equppied with the powers of the Flame-Flame Fruit and the Dragon Claw technique taught from Monkey D. Dragon. The ruthless pirate and enemy to Luffy is Marshall D. Teach and he is ready to use the power of Darkness and Earthquakes to crush his enemies.

Also, according to this new trailer, the game looks like it might have a hub world becuase it has iconic figures the mountains from Dragon Ball, the Hidden Leaf Village and some sort of vendor and am unknown character (probably a girl) with a Straw Hat. This could be a hint that this game might have a creator fighter feature similar to Dragon Ball Xenoverse series.

Here is the following roster currently:

  • Monkey D. Luffy
  • Roronoa Zoro
  • Sanji Vinsmoke
  • Sabo
  • Marshall D. Teach

Viz doesn’t own Shaman King anymore!

Shaman King

The popular Shonen Jump series Shaman King will longer be licensed by Viz Media. According to ANN, Viz Media, English manga company who license and release Shonen Jump titles like One Piece and Naruto, stated that they don’t own the manga series anymore. However, according to Kodansha, another company who does English manga like Attack on Titan, they have listed Shaman King as a trademark owner for the series in Japan, North America and Europe.

SJ News: Hunter x Hunter returns and other one-shots!

Out of all the news, I believe that this is the important part of the news. It’s been reported that Yoshihiro Togashi (mangaka of YuYu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter) will be off from hiatus and continuing the manga series Hunter x Hunter. Currently in the manga, the story is in the Dark Continent Arc. The last time it was in Shonen Jump was August 2014. It’s unknown when the series will return but Togashi-sensei is getting off from hiatus. He was in hiatus because of lower back issues. Let’s hope Togashi-sensei finish the series. For now, you can watch Hunter x Hunter on Neon Alley.

Also mentioned, as way to promote the upcoming movie Yu-Gi-Oh! movie “Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions”, mangaka creator Kazuki Takashi will make a one-shot manga of Yu-Gi-Oh! that will connect to the film. The one-shot will be 2 chapters. The first chapter will on April 11 and the other is April 18.

On April 25th, the Shonen Jump magazine will release the Naruto Gaiden one-shot. It will also connect to the Boruto spinoff manga which will be on May 9th.
