A new Sonic game and a Pokemon Switch? This sounds like something you would hear from Chris-Chan and his webcomic of Sonichu. Zap to the Extreme lol.
Yesterday, Nintendo recently revealed a new Pokemon game and it is available on Nintendo Switch. Revealed in a trailer, this new game will play like the traditional Pokemon games on the handheld systems with a combination of catching Pokemon like Pokemon Go. Just like the games, there will be two versions of the game in which will allow players to start with either a Pikachu or Eevee. The games is called Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! In this new game, players will be able to walk with their Pokemon and battle wild Pokemon and trainers; pretty much do the same you would do in the previous games. As a twist, in order to catch Pokemon, players will have to attempt and try to catch Pokemon just like the phone game Pokemon Go! Players will be able to carry their caught Pokemon in a Pokeball controller in real life to bond and even transfer Pokemon from the phone to console. This Switch game will come out in November 16th, 2018 just in time for the upcoming holidays.

You probably seen this in hobby stores or game stores like GameStop, Box Lunch or even Hot Topic. They are called Pop figures and thanks to the company Funko, many characters from video games, cartoons, anime, comics and other pop culture genre have been converted to these bobble head like figures. Some actually are bobble heads while others just have a stiff head. Think of these as the bobble heads from sports like the NFL and NBA, but instead of collecting your favorite athletes, you’re collecting your favorite characters from Marvel, Dragon Ball, Batman or even Rugrats. I will be sharing you my collection and I will give you a brief description about how I got them.
Sega has been busy promoting the Blue Blur lately, here is what’s up if you are missing out according to the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter.
Free DLC for Sonic Forces
Released last year for a low price, Sonic Forces will be getting free DLC but instead of paying for it, it’s free! Players will be able to download Super Sonic and Super Classic Sonic. It’s free and Sega plans to keep it free forever. If you want to transform into Super early in the game, go download this game in any system like PS4, X1 and Switch.
More good news: we’ve updated the plan for Super Sonic DLC in Sonic Forces!
Starting today, the Super Sonic DLC will be free – forever.
To those who doesn’t know what’s going on, Sega recently signed a partnership with IDW after Sega’s contract with the previous comic company Archies expired. Now in this news, Sega will bring Sonic back into the comic world and already introduced fans an exclusive new character. According to IGN, this new character is named Tangle and she is a new ally to Sonic. The comic series will be out on April this year. Found on Twitter but I found out in Anime News Network, Sonic the Hedgehog game programmer and former leader of Sonic Team Yuji Naka revealed the news that he decided to join the game company Square Enix. He even mentions that he will still be working in video games.
So what does this mean? I believe Sonic will still be in Sega unless something happens but that means the same guy who worked on Sonic games will be lending a hand in Square Enix team and be involved projects such as Final Fantasy or other well known titles.
Here are some interesting facts:
Yuji Nake joined Sega in 1984 but starting developing Sonic the Hedgehog in 1990.
He left Sega and formed his own team named Prope in 2006. (This is probably the same time where Sega split up into teams and made games like Sonic 06 and Wii game Sonic and the Secret Rings.)
He was the producer to the OVA anime Sonic the Hedgehog in 1996 and executive producer to 2003 Sonic X anime.
In Prope, he made games like Rodea the Sky Soldier, Fishing Resort and Ivy the Kiwi?
Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back to this week’s episode of Friday Funny! This is the second week of Friday for August and I hope we are still intact in this summer heat. As you can see from the title, get ready for another beloved platformer video game coming to the gaming shelves. It’s not Mario and it’s definitely not Crash Bandicoot, but it’s Sonic the Hedgehog and the game is Sonic Mania. Sonic Mania is a video game in which Sega along with Christian Whitehead (Video Game Programmer who Sonic 1 and 2 for iOS and Android) revamped the classic Sonic levels in whole HD game. You get to play in Green Hill Zone, Chemical Hills and experience the same feel as when you played Sonic 1, 2, 3, Sonic & Knuckles and CD. This is a wonderful way to celebrate Sonic’s 25th Anniversary for his video games and yes, we had some good and bad games in the past but Sonic kept on running to this future. Besides this, the OWLS have kickstarted another blog tour theme titled Bloodlines and we talk about the importance of family. So far we had mine, Takuto, Brandon and Lynlyn and the next one is Moonid; feel free to read and share our topic perspective. Last but not least and to have bragging rights, I have complete all trophies in the main game of Final Fantasy XV with a Platinum Trophy! I got the Platinum Trophy by defeating the level 99 monster Adamantoise and finding the equipment for Regalia-F. I also completed Stormy Ascent and got a gem in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and completed Crash Warped (I need to collect all gems and relics). To those who don’t know, Stormy Ascent was a scrapped stage made by the original creators of Crash, Naughty Dog. This stage was and is infamous for the hardcore platforming and trickery for gamers; unfortunately, this stage was removed up until Activision decided to release this stage as a DLC. I am winner!
After 24 years of publication, the American comic publishers Archie Comics will be ending Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic books. The partnership of Archie Comics and Sega will be ending and no more Sonic comics will continue. Unfortunately as well, this cancellation news happened and the comics has not even reached issue #300. This means also that fans will no longer get these titles:
However, despite of this and possible silver lining in the negatives, comic publisher IDW will be forming a partnership with Sega and will continue to produce the Sonic comics. IDW is known for publishing titles such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony and Transformers. It’s unknown if they will continue with the available characters (Sally, Snively, or other original characters) or start out fresh.
