Excelsior! – Remembering Stan Lee

It took imagination to create these colorful characters and make them heroes and villains. This one man created a comic book revolution and with many artists like Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko and many more, he made characters like Spider-Man, The Hulk, Captain America, Loki, Magneto and much more. This man is Stan Lee. It has been one year since it was announced that Marvel comic book creator and CEO Stan Lee has passed away.

Throughout the years, Stan Lee has created so many heroes and villains and build a world where we grew attached to them. Thanks to him and his team, we can relate to many characters and look up to them. We can be the down to earth and awkward Spider-Man, the rampaging monster Hulk or even someone as patriotic like Captain America. He also made villains that was memorable and gave us lasting impressions on epic heroic battles such as the magnetic manipulator mutant Magneto, the trickster god Loki and the green creep Green Goblin. Not only Stan made so many comics, he was also well known for making cameo appearance in Marvel movies and TV shows. He may not have been in every single film, but he sure knows to attract attention to his fans. He was in Marvel movies (Disney, Fox and Sony), TV shows, video games and even in a DC animated movie called Teen Titans Go! to the movies.

His last cameo was in Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame. As a fan of Stan Lee, it still saddens me that he passed away. However, at least he is resting in peace and he is reunited with his wife, Joan Lee. What is your favorite cameo appearance? Did you meet Stan Lee? What was your favorite characters?

Thank you Stan Lee

Stan Lee’s daughter responds to Disney’s treatment towards Stan Lee’s Legacy and Spider-Man

The fans took the news rough about Sony taking Spider-Man back and leaving Disney. Some fans blamed Sony for not letting Spider-Man hang out with the Avengers, while others blamed Disney for being greedy and only wanting Spider-Man to make an extra buck.  There is one person who also took it rough not just about the character, but also personally. Stan Lee’s daughter Joan Celia has something to say against Disney. In a interview with TMZ, here is what she said:

“Marvel and Disney seeking total control of my father’s creations must be checked and balanced by others who, while still seeking to profit, have genuine respect for Stan Lee and his legacy. Whether it’s Sony or someone else’s, the continued evolution of Stan’s characters and his legacy deserves multiple points of view. When my father died, no one from Marvel or Disney reached out to me. From day one, they have commoditized my father’s work and never shown him or his legacy any respect or decency. In the end, no one could have treated my father worse than Marvel and Disney’s executives.”

That’s her response to Disney.

TGIF!

Thank God it’s Friday! Welcome back everyone! This is Matthew from Matt-in-the-Hat and back for another fun filled post filled with positive vibes and funny memes. Oh boy, what a week we have gone through. I hope everyone is doing okay and especially those who are dealing with those deadly campfires. I pray that the fires will officially be gone and I pray for the people suffering over there. Autumn can be a deadly season for fire seasons since it’s a day where wind picks up and trees are dropping dead leaves; it’s a perfect catalyst for starting a wildfire. Some of you guys already know this, but here is a refresher, Marvel comics creator Stan Lee died on November 12 this Monday, a day after Veterans Day. This legendary man started Marvel and even teamed up with amazing artists like Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby and made heroes like the Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther and X-Men. He’s also well-known for making cameo appearances in Marvel movies. Doesn’t matter what character plays as, he gets to be in a superhero movie; he could be the mailman, bus driver or just a guy living in New York and he has the chance to experience seeing a superhero in action. I pray for his friends and family and I am proud to be a fan of him. Whether than mourning what is gone, we should be thankful and happy that he left a legacy. This man made our heroes and created a world where heroes exist. Stan Lee is the greatest Marvel hero and I hope one day, I can be like those heroes and make a difference. Besides this news, we also got some interesting movie teaser trailers like the first time ever live action Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu. Detective Pikachu will be voiced by Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds and he will be helping a young man find his dad in world where real Pokemon and humans coexist. Another teaser we get is Toy Story 4. There’s not much but seeing some funny videos, but I hear Toy Story 4 is going to be another emotional roller coaster than Toy Story 3.

Let’s start this Friday and prepare for Thanksgiving next week!

As a way to remember Stan Lee and his legacy, here are some tribute videos I found online.

Little known fact, X-Men: Apocalypse had Stan Lee and his wife Joan Lee as cameos.

Excelsior my friends!

Stan Lee confirmed for upcoming Avengers 4

Whenever life fills us with bad news, always look for a silver lining. If you guys didn’t know, Marvel comics creator Stan Lee recently passed away yesterday. Stan Lee has worked with well known comic artists and help create characters like the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Black Panther. He is also well-known for being a cameo and appearing in random scenes in Marvel movies. This includes movies in the MCU (Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and Dr. Strange), Fox Marvel (X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four) and Sony (Venom, Sami Raimi Spider-Man and Marc Webb Amazing Spider-Man). Even though he is gone, it appears Stan Lee might make one more appearance in a Marvel movie in 2019. It’s reported by IGN that Stan Lee will appear in the upcoming Avengers 4 movie. It’s noted that they were able to film him before his passing and fans will be able to see him when the movie comes out. The Avengers 4 movie will be released in theaters on May 3rd, 2019.

Correct me if I am wrong or I missed something, but I am unsure if he’s going to be in Captain Marvel or Spider-Man: Far From Home movies.
