Tokyo Ghoul:re game reveals release date

Bandai Namco been busy trying to appeal to both gamers and otaku fans lately. Besides games like Sword Art Online, Dragon Ball and upcoming Code Vein, we are also getting a Tokyo Ghoul video game! This Tokyo Ghoul game was announced last year and it’s been under the works for a long time. This game is called Tokyo Ghoul:re Call to Exist. In this game, you can play as the CCG, Ghoul or even Quinx and play in a co-op survival game based on the anime/manga. Now that this game is back online with news, Bandai Namco has just revealed the game’s release date in a trailer. The game is coming out on November 15th, 2019 for PS4 and PC.

Jan/Feb + Early March 2019 Pop Funko haul!

Welcome collector’s! Once again I want to share with you my Pop Funko collection. As  a collector fanatic, I can’t resist on getting exclusive figures and Pop’s based on my favorite series and genre.

26. Eto (Tokyo Ghoul) from Fall Convention Exclusive 2018

I don’t usually say no exclusive figures and it’s good thing Hot Topic gave shoppers a discount coupon. This was something I been meaning to get since it was exclusive and I did like watching Tokyo Ghoul. I plan to read more of the manga and then watch the anime up to Tokyo Ghoul:re. I don’t know much about this character except that I seen her in Tokyo Ghoul Square Root A (Tokyo Ghoul √2 or season 2). She is a mysterious character who is part of a organization called Aogiri Tree where Kaneki joins them after getting kidnapped by Jason. I do like her design and have her identity concealed.

27. Riku (Kingdom Hearts III)

We waited this long for Kingdom Hearts III. We had spinoffs and Remix collections for the past years and now with KH3 here, fans were eager to get this game. In this new game, the characters have changed and got not only powers but also new fashion and keyblades. Riku’s appearance has been updated since Kingdom Hearts II and he wears clothing strikingly resembling Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. He also has a new keyblade that looks like a car key.  guess the next game will have Riku driving a car as a promotion to becoming a keyblade master.

28. (28a, 28b, 28c). Batman Pocket Pops set

Three is better than one. Unlike the previous figures I collected, these three figures are really small. I got this set from Amazon and with some credit I used, I only spent about $5. I will be honest, I got this because I heard you can also get these figures in the deluxe Blu-Ray edition of the Batman: Animated Series collection. The deluxe edition comes with all the episodes in Blu-Ray DVD including the two movies The Mask of Phantasm and SubZero and it has three small Pocket Pops of Batman, Joker and Harley Quinn. To avoid spending a fortune, I decided to buy the figures separately and I will settle with getting the collection in standard format.

29. Pikachu (Pokemon) Target exclusive

I don’t usually shop at Target because I have problems with their online shopping. Alternatively, I used eBay instead. I like Pikachu as a kid and I still do. A Pop version of Pikachu looks really cute. I am hoping to get the Bulbasaur figure next.

What do you guys think of these figures?

We are one! – Top 5 anime characters with symbiotic partners (Happy Halloween!)

https://cdn2us.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeekus/files/styles/main_wide/public/2018/09/venom-movie-tom-hardy-symbiote.jpg?itok=SH551hPi

Happy Halloween!

“We are Venom!” This is a quote from Sony’s movie adaption of Marvel’s antihero Venom. I saw this movie and I have to admit, it was good movie and I would love to see a sequel or possibly have Venom crossover with Spider-Man.  What makes Venom interesting is how the main character Eddie Brock is teamed up with an unknown creature unexpectedly and must learn to control. However, unlike most characters with super powers, Eddie gained these powers by accident and he struggles to control them and what’s worse is that Venom is a living creature with its own motives. In other words, Venom and Eddie has to work together in order to survive against enemies that wants them both dead.

This kind of relationship also exists in the world of anime and manga where characters receive a special power, but changes their lives differently. Some characters get rejected by society and some loses a part of their identity in order to live. In this post, I want to list my top five characters who gained powers but goes through hardships. Anime characters that obtained a power source without any characteristics like Deku from My Hero Academia will not be in this list since even though he does get the quirk One for All from All Might, the quirk is not a living creature. This list will focus on characters obtaining living, powerful beings and learning to cooperate with the hosts. I wasn’t sure how to properly title this post, so if you have any title suggestions for this post, comment down below.  It’s been a while since I did a top post so excuse me for my rusty writing.

*There might be minor spoilers, but I will keep it to a minimum! This is not ranked! I am only listing from the top of my head. Also, I will be referring to the movie Venom more often. So if you are reading this and getting tired of me saying, “just like Venom or just like Eddie…”, get used to it!

OWLS Blog Tour: Tokyo Ghoul – Ken Kaneki, the diplomatic ghoul

Whenever we have a disagreement with someone, we use our words to express our thoughts and opinions. However, there are those who would rather use fists instead of words, those who forget that being “right” isn’t the most important thing, and those who lose sight of compromising and acknowledging differences in opinion and belief. Diplomacy is an important skill and tactic that not many of us have or are able to utilize properly especially in “social media wars” for sensitive issues and anime discourse—we just express our opinions without really listening. For this month’s prompt, we will be exploring some of the best negotiations scenes in pop culture media and discuss how effective these diplomatic moments are and what we can learn from them. We will also discuss why communication and listening are important traits to have and whether or not there are other means to enforce peace.

Will contain spoilers to Tokyo Ghoul anime. Also, please support the previous OWLS blog tour post from Moonid.

Toonami News: Tokyo Ghoul replaces One Piece

If the news is true and no mistake, this is happening.

Announced early this morning, Toonami announced on their Facebook that starting on March 25th, the long Shonen series One Piece will be replaced with the anime Tokyo Ghoul. Tokyo Ghoul will be taking its spot and if One Piece is taken off, that we will not be getting the Sabaody Archipelago arc on TV.

Here’s a random fact, One Piece joined Toonami on May 2013 starting episode 207.

My Dream Loot Crate – A Loot Crate Idea

Hello everyone, this is Matthew I hope everyone had a great Christmas vacation. In this post, this will be different. This is not a review or news of sort. Instead, I decided to write post about my ideal create for the pop culture subscription team Loot Crate. Loot Crate is a subscription service where people pay for a subscriptions for a themed crate filled with goodies based on themes. Subscribers could get a crate filled with specific anime merchandise (Loot Anime) or other stuff like for pet lovers (Loot Pets), video games (Loot Gaming) or just the usual standard version filled with random goods like comic book and gaming Loot Crate.

This post was inspired by TwoHappyCats and her post “My Dream Loot Crate“. In her post, she wrote about her idea create called “Home is here the anime is”. She explains that she named this theme because she will be moving town and state and she wants some anime goods for the new home. According to her blog, here is what Loot Crate says:

“Ever dream about designing your own monthly subscription crate? Well, your dream might could become a reality. Loot Crate, the pop culture subscription service for geeks, gamers, and fans alike, wants to know what people would do if they could put together their dream subscription crate.”

Also I heard from this tweet from Kauses of Otaku Gamer Zone’s Twitter this morning:

Anyway, enough jibber jabber, let’s start this dream crate!

I AM NOT SPONSORING FOR ANYTHING OR ANYONE! Just like TwoHappyCats, this is just a rough idea for my dream crate and this post is not intended to sponsor any company. This is just a Dream Loot Crate Post!!!

The Theme – Bloodthirsty

kenshin-battousai

The theme for this dream crate is “Bloodthirsty” and it will contain anime and manga related-titles. At first I wanted to create a crate filled anime in regards to adventure or Shonen titles, but I though it would be interesting to have a crate filled with anime filled with titles known for blood, gore and eeriness. It would be like opening “Pandora’s Box”. I am not much of a violent guy but I think we all have moments where we just want to let loose and embrace our rage. They say, it starts with the quiet ones haha.

Tokyo Ghoul Mask

10451047_hi-tokyo-ghoul-mask

This was something I wanted for Christmas. I got a T-shirt instead but I am happy on what I got. For this crate, I think Ken Kaneki’s mask from Tokyo Ghoul should be included in this crate. I found this mask online from Hot Topic and I think this looks epic. I have seen the main character Kaneki used this mask only a little bit in Season 1 and I thought it made him look intimidating. If anyone is familiar with Tokyo Ghoul, you would know that this anime is violent and filled with hungry ghouls.

Akame ga Kill! Esdeath T-Shirt

akame-ga-kill-esdeath-ice-queen-tshirt_sfb0417_02_00_1600x2234_43dbed98-627b-496d-b2e7-9e96df56b83d

This shirt image I saw interesting from the Sentai Filmworks site. I have a question, if Esdeath is known as the hottest character in the anime, would she be called hot or cold because of her ice powers? Either way, Esdeath is a very powerful antagonist in the violent anime Akame ga Kill! and she exceeds in both skills and looks. Like most of the crates, subscribers will be able to get free T-shirts. I think it would be cool to see this shirt added with my ideal crate. Esdeath proves that even the most beautiful woman can be also be the most feared, and scary human on earth.

Rosario Vampire keychain cross

699858949953_merchandise-rosariovampire-keychain-cross

Aside from the violent girls in Akame ga Kill!, some girls can be dangerous and cute. I am huge fan of Rosario Vampire and I think the Cross Necklace should be included in this Bloodthirsty Crate. I found this at the Rightstuf website. In Rosario Vampire, one of the girls named Moka Akashiya is a vampire and she is seen wearing this cross on her neck. This cross is a seal tto prevent her inner vampire from letting lose. However, when other monsters try to get her or her friends, these monsters end up getting their butts whooped by her dark side. This little lady needs blood.

Hellsing Ultimate Notebook

699858431441_merchandise-hellsing-ultimate-notebook-integra

Ever want to keep track on how much you spent, or how many you killed, or just want to keep track on your ideas? If so, this is a need. From the OVA series Hellsing: Ultimate, this notebook will help anyone needing something to write and keep records. It can be used for school or just other activities like home or work. You help keep you motivated, this tough lady Integra will be observing you from this cover. This notebook is from Rightstuf.

Deadman Wonderland wallet

699858610259_merchandise-deadman-wonderland-wallet-the-red-man

When in doubt, if you ever been accused for something you never did, make sure you have someone to bail you out. From the violent anime Deadman Wonderland, this wallet has the cover from the mysterious Red Man. The Red Man is a mysterious person is responsible for killing the protagonist Ganta’s homeclassroom. All of his friends were slaughtered and the survivor Ganta is accused for a murder he never did; his punishment is being sent to the “fun” slaughterhouse with other criminals called Deadman Wonderland. I am hoping no one goes to jail for doing something crazy. Still, how would you feel to pull money put from a wallet with a killer’s face on it? This wallet is from Rightstuf.

Finished!

This completes my dream loot crate for my Bloodthirsty Crate. I hope you liked my idea and if you ever want to try out Loot Crate, follow the links above. Thanks for reading this post and I am happy to share my dream crate. See you next time!

Also, what would your crate be? How would you set it up and what will be the theme? Leave a link in the comments and share your ideas! I would love to see them. 🙂
